Torque Converter Clutch. This clutch locks the transmission torque converter at highway speed for fuel economy. Then giving problems, it acts like you are stopping a manual transmission car without using the clutch.

There's not enough info to give a good answer. If the car starts and idles good until you put it into gear there can be several things wrong with it. Can you keep it running with your foot on the accel pedal when it's in gear. The neutral switch has little to do with things other than it being an input to the PCM. Get the PCM checked for codes and the related data that can cause a stalling problem and go from there.
