Beer.
The observable universe we find ourselves in is in reality a bubble in an incredibly large glass of beer. It came into existence at the bottom of the glass and is in the process of expanding as it raises to the top. We have until we reach the head or until we are consumed by whoever poured the beer.
I think of this every time I throw back a pint.
Now, so will you.

By definition, the universe is all inclusive. So there is nothing outside our universe by the way that we define it. There are many theories about what is going on. I like the idea that the entire universe is a very slow pulse. Realize that time is infinite, and change is constant. Everything that contains mass has a gravitational pull. Therefore, things are all getting closer to eachother at a very slight rate. Theoretically, everything will eventually come together. Since this will contain all the mass in the verse, it will be incredibly dense. Some believe that it will then explode out back into the empty space. Therefore, the universe is thought of as a pulse.

The universe is constantly expanding, expanding into nothing. The universe was thought to be created by the big bang, where the universe expanded at a great speed, and it still is right now.
The big bang was the moment in which all sorts of gasess were created, forming together to make stars and other objects.
It's hard to explain/imagine what nothing is. It simply is nothing. Not a colour or chemical, object or particle. Just nothing.
I hope I explained this well!
P.S Some scientests think there is more than one universe (this just adds to confusion and it may not be true)

The big bang didn't start at one single point. It was infinite in space, otherwise there would be a center of the universe, which there is not. At the moment the center is every galaxy, or every point of view if you will.....
The farthest we can see is not the end, it's just that the light from further stars or galaxies has not had time to reach us since the beginning of the expansion, 13 billion years ago.
There is strong reason to beleive it's infinite

Check out...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-theory
Each brane in this theory in finite, but to the inhabitants "stuck" on a given brane, the universe is infinite.
Probably not the best way to say this, but, it's both infinite and finite depending on the point of view.

I can only give you a religious answer, The universe is finite since it is not God. Only God is Infinite. But the universe exists within the infinite expanse of God who is limitless. Therefore, it expands into the limitless expanse of God. Only God knows its potential and real limits. In other words, it exists within God where there are no limits. But the universe itself is not infinite.

Well here's what i believe:If you were to travel up there, after
the planets,open space,and then "The heavenly place"which
i belive exists and is a place for people like me who aren't ready to leave this world, and so get to stay between earth and
the heavens. After this heaven it's self. But of coarse u could
never do this 'cause god would not allow it.

If you imagine the universe to be like the surface of a balloon.Whilst it can expand and contract ,there is no end or beginning.
