I'm in a biracial relationship...My husband is Latino and I'm white. The other day, we went out to dinner and there was a girl sitting a few tables away from us. She was in my line of vision and I noticed that she kept staring at us and giving us weird looks. She was there with a guy (who had his back to us) and even though they were talking, she would continue to look over at us constantly. While what she was doing wasn't anything blatantly rude, it kind of annoyed me. I've been in similar situations before. I know there are biracial couples out there who have faced a lot worse than what I described. I'm just curious about what other biracial couples' experiences have been. Has it been your experience that people tend to ignore the fact that the two of you are of two different races/ethnicities, or have other people made an issue out of it? Serious answers only please.

I have been in many interracial relationships and not everyone approves.I go out with my boyfriend and people stare sometimes. They will give him or me dirty looks and he gets upset.I dont because these people are wasting their time staring at me and I'm not going to get worked up about it.You cant stop people from staring but you can choose to ignore them. Many people avoid being in a interracial relationship because they dont want to be judged or ridiculed. Just focus on being happy and healthy.

The reason people stare is because you are different. Its no different than someone staring at a person in a wheel chair. Other people feel as if mixing the races is just wrong. Actually there is a part in the old testament which says not to mix races. so their belief is actually biblical.with your particular situation and the events of today you better get use to it. There are a lot of negative feelings about illegals in this country. Not that your boyfriend is illegal he is however, hispanic. Most people feel as if they are actually cheating the system. illegals have shown by being here illegally they have NO respect for our laws or our way of life. I feel if the government doesn't act quickly and do something about it it will get a lot worse before it gets better. Illegals are stealing from our health care system our social security system our educational system and our society in general. You are right there are other couples who face a lot worse than you

you're real, now that i think of approximately it i haven't seen biracial couples. perhaps they try to maintain down the outrage by using keeping races jointly? There are some people who could freak at seeing a black guy or woman and a white guy or woman as a pair on television.

Are you sure you didn't just have something gross in your teeth or something. I'm just saying people stare at people for a lot of different reasons. If you automatically assume that somebody is staring or talking about you because you have a Latino boyfriend then maybe you are the one with the problem.

Yeah. If you have such a problem with the looks and whispers, which you knew you would get when you decided to date outside of your race, then you should stay with your own! If you choose to continue with what you're doing, shut up and stop complaining!!!!

i can imagine how annoying that must feel to you but i wouldn't give them the benefit of you noticing her as she knows that your aware of her disagreement to your relationship with your fella. i find it rude an unnecessary and i would have smiled and waved at her just to embarrass her. (but thats me) i wouldn't waste your time on people like that and not to take it personally.

in all except the most rural of areas, it seems normal and accepted by most people, in my experience. Can't speak for the bible belt, though.

Obviously you have a problem with the interracial relationship, otherwise you would not be worried about what other people think.

You are very insecure.
