I think this family needs help, the med bills would be astronomical, but I think if they really looked for an extra 10 minutes they could have found a family in much dire straights that wouldn't cause controversy, but then, that is what they want now isn't it. The controversy gets the republicans in an outrage and puts a "victim" out there for the liberals to identify with. The democrats think this is a good strategy, I personally think like their current smear campaign strategy's this will blow up in their face too.

You know what's funny, they'll point out that they only pay $500 for schooling (the rest of the cost is supposedly covered by the state and scholarships). The means they have even more money for health care! Perhaps this family needs money budgeting classes more than they need SCHIP. Also relevant is that their is no 'big bad business' denying them health care, unless you count the father's business. He opted NOT to get health care.

You people are taking this so out of context it is unreal. Instead of continue the farce about that family's income...i want proof that they PAID FOR THE SCHOOLING! Some of those schools have scholarships that are awarded to limited number of "lower income" families....some of those same schools have a government "voucher" program....before judging this family, maybe you should look at their income taxes and see exactly what kind of "wealth" this family had.
Secondly, the child in question was involved in a motor vehicle accident and was severely injured.....do you have any idea of what his medical cost was???? do you know if there was any settlement from an insurance company?? You people make these assumptions because some article in a very biased newspaper or online information site tells you that they were wealthy??

they do not care that it goes to the rich. they want every one to get free health care. as long as the working class never figure out that they will pay more for it than they would on their own. the government can not pay for anything, they have no money. it's our money they are spending. they sent checks to people to stay home for so long that they think we will all love them if they give us some money.

For those that missed the story, link below. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the Democratic strategy. Of course those that do misspend and don't use a budget would welcome spending our tax dollars.

With all of the practice they have in putting "victims" in the spotlight to champion their causes, you'd think they would have done a better background check on this one.

Well, they didn't do their research, and that was stupid, no question. On the other hand, I don't think the point of SCHIP was to give it just to that one kid, which is the impression the conservatives seem to be trying to give now.
