my first 2 are 16 months apart...i think it is great...they are really close right now...my brother and i are 11 months apart, and although we fought alot, we are alot closer!!! as for your weight, try not to concentrate so much on gaining. every preg is different, just concentrate on having a healthy pregnancy, and making sure your baby gets all the nutrients it needs!!! they weight will come off after. good luck

I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter, I'm 12 weeks pregnant, I have been overweight most of my adult life, I have already lost 4 pounds by eating right and watching my carbs and sugars. You don't have to gain weight when you're overweight (to a certain degree). You do have to eat right and make sure that your stomach and the baby are healthy and growing. I lost 16 pounds during the first half of my pregnancy with my daughter and only gained back the same 16 pounds at the end so I never gained more weight than my original weight and my daughter was and is perfect. My doctor watched me the whole time and was proud of me for not overeating. Millions of people have babies close together (I have two sets of cousins who are 11 months and 13 months apart). It's safe. Congrats and good luck!

U said your baby is 15 mons and I don't know how far along u are, but my first two children are 18 mons apart and that's fine. As far as weight gain, I've never seen u before and my doc has told me that there is really no such need to "eat for two", he said if u just have one bun in the oven, u can eat just like u did before u got pregnant. Unless you're in love with junk food or something. Do u understand where I am coming from? Congratulations and I wish u nothing but the best.

I have been overweight most of my life, too. I gained normal weight with my first baby, and when he was 13 months old, I found out to be pregnant again. I gained more weight, but not as much as my first, then I lost most of it after he was born. Now I found out, 2.5 years later that I am pregnant with my third. I have gained normal amounts of weight, and my doc isn't concerned that I have not returned to my pre-birth weight before becoming pregnant with this one. He told me that it takes a minimum of 3 years or better before your body will return to pre-birth hormonal levels, and really start to see your body change back to pre-baby form.
As long as you take care of yourself by drinking water, taking your vitamins and eat a healthy diet, you and the new baby and your wee little one will all be happy and healthy in the end.
Good luck. Hope this helps.

you could get prego the day after you deliver if you really tried hard enough. 15 months after is not that close, sop you are fine. Every preg. s different, so jsut focus on nourishing your body now for your new baby, and worry about losing weight later. you should look for special preg. only workouts in your area, I hear they are great for relieving pain, and the added exercise will definalty help you keep off your extra weight :)
congrats
