not likely, but who is punching you, and more importantly, why are you tolerating it? you have bigger issues at work here.

I seriously hope you are not in this position. This happened to my youngest daughter when she was seven months pregnant with her first child. Her husband was mad, knocked her backwards onto a gravel parking lot and landed with both knees in her belly. From that time on she did not feel the baby move. We had to go to the hospital twice weekly so that the baby could be monitored.
The baby, I am happy to say, is now almost 14 and is quite fine, she is extremely intelligent and beautiful. The parents divorced and the father has only supervised visitation.
If you get punched - seriously, playfully, lightly or hard - you need to contact your OB/GYN as soon as possible. In all likely hood things are OK; however, it could cause a complication and it is only right that your doctor know about it.
If you are at risk get out for the safety of you and your baby. Do not think that you have no where to go, battered women's shelters are everywhere and there is always room for expectant mother's. Don't risk losing your baby, or losing your own life.
God bless you.

No, if the punch is light (for eg from a playing toddler) it won't hurt the baby inside. It's like striking water with a sword, since the fetus has lots of room to move around. If you are about to give birth soon, I wouldn't recommend it as some people are more sensitive than other. In that case, it wouldn't be for the fetus, but more for yourself.
The real question is : other than a playing toddler, why would someone punch you in the stomach, even lightly? If you are having safety issues, please address them asap with someone you trust. I think you're getting some people concerned here in the way you voiced your question. Take care.

It depends on how far gone you are, i was kicked accidentally in the stomach at 8 weeks and the sonographer explained that any pain i had was most likely muscular due to me tensing, she also explained that there is vast amount of room in there filled with amniotic fluids protecting your baby at a young stage but the further along you are and the more pronounced your belly is the more likely you are to have problems with the baby.
but i have to agree with the others, why are you being punched lightly... do you mean a child puncing you or an adult and was it a playfull thing and them not realise your pregnant or was it a calculated thing... this is a very worrying situation to be in. Remember you have to care for the both of you now!

You should give more details of how you got punched so people don't mis-judge you. I have a 2 1/2 year old, active daughter who likes to jump and play and she jumped from the couch onto my stomach and I'm 12 weeks pregnant. No worries though because the baby is really protected with all the amniotic fluid. If you notice any cramping, spotting, or aching, I would call your doctor to be on the safe side.

Why would you be getting punched in the stomach? Who would punch you in the stomach while your pregnant? It depends it may or may not hurt the baby so it'd be best of you stayed away from people that see you as a punching bag.

Who is punching you? And why are you being punched as a pregnant woman? I think thats the biggest issue.
Are you with an abusive man who would DARE to punch you?
If you're not hurt, baby isnt hurt. In most cases, even if you were hurt the baby wouldnt be.

probably not, the baby is pretty cushoined in there. When i was pregnant my dog accidentally jumped right on my stomach when she was trying to get on the couch with me. No harm was done although she's 80lbs and it certainly didn't feel good! If this has happened to you then just take it easy for a while, drink lots of water and be on the look out for any spotting or cramping. But you should be fine, good luck!

Uh, yes! Especially if you're farther along in the pregnancy! Think of it this way: if you were inside of a soft, thin like object would it hurt you if someone punched the object from the outside?
