Its a country in the middle of rebuilding from a war. The insurgent fighters are busy destroying infrastructure to ensure that their people don't have a safe place to work, in the hopes of bringing more people to their side.

Why do you think that a country can be rebuilt in 4 years? Wars of independence take time to fully recover from, especially when there is a segment of the population fighting against independence.

Where did you get this nutty number?

The unemployment rate in Iraq has never been over 30% unless you believe the websites that cite Iraqi university studies that claimed 70% in 2003. Those same websites say that, because of the war, there are no students to attend universities in Iraq and they're all in Jordan.

Right now it's about 18%. Under Jimmy Carter, unemployment in the US was around 17%.

Despite the danger, there is a lot of interest in Iraq job opportunities. Billions of dollars have been allocated to construction and reconstruction projects throughout Iraq. Salaries are high and the lure of making more money that one could sometimes make in years at home is hard to resist.
Some jobs in Iraq start at about $80,000 a year. Others pay more. In most cases, housing and meals are provided.
Iraq job postings are available online and, in many cases, job seekers can apply online for Iraq employment.
Keep in mind though, these opportunities are very competive.

It's a disaster.

Just like 4.7% unemployment here, at the peak of the interest rate cycle, is a success.

By the way THAT'S why "Black enlistment" is down - - - - - everyone, including minorities, has a JOB. As much credit as I give Friedman, poshumously, for convincing Nixon to eliminate the draft in '71, that was easy to do - - - - we didn't NEED a draft because people were losing their jobs - - - - - because Nixon failed to listen to Friedman on any other issue...

How was unemployment before the war? How does Bush figure into it? You need to set out your factual basis of your accusation.

It's kind of hard to have low unemployment when bombs are going off, businesses have been destroyed, electricity is only on a few hours a day, and the drinking water is damn near poison.

it is a freaking chaotic disaster........................

No your right it's Bush's fault. He ended their number one employer, Bomb making, and their number two employer, Terrorist Making, and their number 3 employer, Hijackers. But take heart, the suicide bombers market is picking back up and that really limits unemployment permanently.
