by tolerant levels I mean:

it bothers you in personal conversation, but not in movies/tv
it bothers you when children do it, but not adults
it only bothers you when children are in the room listening
you don't curse unless your extremely mad
you only curse around a certain friend/group
it turns you off/on when the opposite sex does it
you have certain curse words that don't bother you, and then harder ones that do ( i call them 'soft' or 'hard' profanities)

etc.....

I don't curse unless I'm feeling exremely distressed or upset or excited, then it slips out. Even then I won't use certain words...when someone hears me say a "strong" curse they know to either run away or duck! I don't approve of children cursing (My son even has to say Oh My Gosh) and I don't approve of cursing in the work place (except when I worked on the Dude ranch....different setting entirely). I guess I am pretty picky. My boss's favorite word is my least favorite, but what can I say to him...he's the boss. But hearing the f's flying around the office is not enjoyable.

I only curse when I am hurt, physically or when angry, and I never curse around children,(under 18 or so) or elderly people, unless they curse at me first directly..I think girls & women who use curse words every other word or sentence seem un-feminine though and children who curse are just disgusting and proof of bad parenting.

I'm not offended by profanity, but there is a time and a place for it. (Agree with Millypeed)

I don't appreciate it if every other word is profanity, but I have learned that many folks in our culture don't even realize they are using unacceptable language; it has become a deep part of the culture. I don't like it when Christian folks who know better use a lot of profanity, but I figure they are still immature in their faith. We can expect the pagans to act like pagans, so I blow it off when they talk like that, or excuse myself from their presence.

I don't curse around my kids and only when I am really mad. It doesn't offend me when others curse as long as kids aren't around or elderly people.
