I have a BIG exam tomorrow and I'm almost done with it all. But since literature is the subject, I can still read through different plots and memorise some more points. Will it be safe for me to study through the night, I love literature although I haven't had much sleep throughout the week..

Does studying throughout the night causes things like headaches and giddyness in the morning? I had friends who warn me not to do it cause they had to miss exams when they fell sick the next day

Thanks

Yes, cram until your head explodes. It's fun.

It really depends on the person how they can handle an all-nighter. Personally, I can't do them because by the next morning, my brain is so tired that I can't focus so I think I would end up doing worse on my exam. Some people however don't have that problem and can stay up for 2 nights in a row studying. If anything, take a 3-4 hour nap and then wake up a little earlier the next morning to study a little more? That's what I do if anything. I've never gotten headaches from studying all night. I would recommend that you take a few hours of napping and wake up early to study. Your brain might be clearer then and you can retain more information that way. Good luck on your exam!

I am a student and I should take lots of exams and I tried different strategies.
1) study very very much, rest the night before the exam
result : feel very anxious and take the exam with poor mark,of less that expected;
2) read some of the things once,twice,have the feeling that I don`t know anything, read all night, and in the minute before the exam...
result : luckily they examine me on a subject I know;
3) don`t study at all and go to a disco all nigth, sex drugs...and so on (I`m joking about the drugs)
result : 50:50 take it or not take it, but I don`t really care,cause I know there much more important things in life then that stuped exam

Ive found the best times to study for me, and I have heard, are at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day. Rather when you wake up and before you fall asleep.
For whatever reason my retention is better. I'll remember way more, and yes that's despite however sober or enhanced I am.

If you know your material then no. Sleep will actually help you retain what you already have learned. Just eat a good breakfast and you good to go.
