There are many disadvantages actually where to begin; first off you have food that is pre-made, prepackaged and you don't really know how long it's been in storage.

Needless to say you loose points in freshness, the other bad thing about that is that the nutritional value is minimal and it's usually very high in Cholesterol, trans, sats, and sodium.

The other thing is that the ingredients involved in making the food are usually not the best, which is more cost effective. Being that the ingredients are cost effective it ends up costing you plenty in the taste department, because most fast food lacks in taste and nutrition.

Excess in fast food can really damage your health IE: gain in weight, hypertension, strokes, heart attacks and upset stomach. So there is another disadvantage your health, which is the biggest disadvantage of all.

I think many people eat fast food because there is a lack of time and or lack of effort in preparing good food.

I recommend you watch the movies "Supersize Me" and "Fast Food Nation". Those movies should provide you will all the necessary words to describe all the disadvantages of fast food. I would go into detail of why it is so incredibly bad for you, but it seems that everyone who posted an answer before me has covered all the main disadvantages.

First of all you don't know what you are getting. Plus most foods are cooked in OLD grease which has been used over and over again. Plus most of them still use oil with trans fat. Which causes heart disease! The meat is usually a mixture of lips and assholes, the chicken is mixed with feathers, feet and beaks. So good luck with that. Hopefully I gave you some nice visuals

Fast food is very unhealthy. Fast food restaurants put a lot of sugar, calories, trans fat, etc. into their foods. Their food is also very greasy.

Aside from the obvious, I have heard that the oil they fry the fries in is so hot, that it actually makes them cancerous. Fries are the new cancer sticks.

it's greasy, has a lot of calories, the meal size is too large so you eat more than your body needs, and because of the good prices you're tempted to buy more (then feel you have to eat it all).
