The past is the past. Time heals all wounds. Live your life, making the right choices, eventually people will see the you are making every effort to be the best you can be. I am not saying it is going to be easy. And not everyone will overlook your past. But the people that count, the people that love you for you will see the efforts.
Do not let your past influence your future. If you have made mistakes, get past them. Live for today. Learn from the mistakes that were made. Do not worry what others think, Be the best you can be for YOU>Your future is what YOU make it. Good luck~

Everyone has done things in their past that they wish they
could undo. You have to come to terms with what has happened back then. Beating yourself up for something that
cannot be undone, isn't going to do anything. Take time
to go over everything in your past and see what you have
learned from it. Then go on from here. Don't worry what
others think, even if they judge you...it is your life and
you can change it, if it is your desire to do so. No one
can change another person, they have to want to do this
themselves. As you change, it will show and slowly the judgements will change also. It won't erase the past...it will always be there to haunt you...but, that will not matter.....look at the here and now and go forward, you cannot go back....the future is waiting for you to fill it anyway you want.

Then find new friends who will not judge no matter what you do. We all make mistakes, we are all human. If they are so quick to judge you then ask them how perfect they've been all of their lives! I can't stand judgmental people.
All you can do is be the best person you can today and learn from your mistakes. As long as you aren't repeating them then you are doing the best you can. People do turn their lives around with the love and support of true family and friends.

You make your own joy/happiness, and nothing that anyone says can change that. You live for the now, and learn from your past - that's the best I can tell you. At some point, someone you deal with professionally or personally will understand that. Those are the people you want in your life, not the haters.

That's what makes it so difficult to build a better future as some people would rather judge others based on their past and hold grudges instead of forgiving and moving on.

well i am a recovering drug addict. i really cant let my past determine my future or let what people thought of me slow my progress. if i really gave their opinions a lot of weight, i would be high again and that is not an option for me. i just live one day at a time and stay clean & sober. if thats not good enough for everyone else then oh well, its the only way i can live for myself now. that's all that matters to me. my future depends on my sobriety, not what others think about my past active addiction.

Well, we are all the accumlation of our deeds, of course. At the same time, think of those persons you admire. If you contemplate what it is you admire about them, pretty uniformly I suspect you will come to the conclusion that among their admirable qualities is a capacity for forgiveness.
We all make mistakes, some more than others, but wha makes a good person, what makes a good friend, is that they develop the ability to overlook faults and mistakes, and even forgive them.
Not to belabor religion, as that is not my wont, but Jesus once said something to the effect that anyone can love their friends. It is loving people who have not shown you friendship that is the test of your character. And, of course, you must also learn to love yourself and forgive yourself, just as you aspire that others may do as well.

Never think this b/c the truth is, is that everyone that judges you will eventually forget so no worries there really is no others judging you and if they are it is only temporary, besides why worry what others think they have no real right to judge to begin with!
