heard this line, "harm none do what thou wilt." and you can do what you want as long as nobody gets hurt. But is there an exception to this law? Like, retaliation, punishment, justice, or to defend yourself?

- The kids in your english class, points at you and calls you a freak, even when you tell them to stop, they say what you gunna do cast a spell on me(Yes I will, to shut you up.) Hey, did you know this girl eats goats. They videotaped me when the subs in the bathroom. They spilled coke on me, I got into a fight with this kid who wont leave me alone. They even promised to send the video to myspace. They did. I was crying and at the same time pretty pissed off, I really want something bad to happen to them, to get sick/die. To punish them.

"Yea yea yea, i know your gunna say go talk to your teachers what's going on. I would do that, if schools are doing their jobs. It'd happened under they nose, and they not gunna do any thing.

My point is can I at least punish them?

If you can't harm anyone, can you at least do it out of justice. If someone on the news killed 33 people and if he still alive, would at least do something to him? He desevered it.

Thos kids deserve a taste of magick, I really want something bad to happen, at least as a punishment. I'm removing negativity, THEY ARE the negativity,

I'm not ranting, I'm just trying to see if there is an exception to harm none.

Is there?

I remember trying this 2 years ago, when this boy threw an egg at me, called me loser, tripped me, and did really mean things, so I made a dolly made out of aluminum foil, stuck them together with staples, stabbed the head and with paper clips. Stomped on him. threw it in the toilet, (did the business) then flushed him. I didnt see him again since, but I didn't feel anything bad happening to me

That's Wiccan. Not all witches are Wiccan.

I personally believe in harm only when it's necessary, or when I'm willing to accept the consequences. But then, since I also don't believe that magic is an external force, I don't use magic to harm others. I'm pretty sure that it's not possible. I do it the old-fashioned way.

And in your case, I would say taking a audio recorder to school and getting them to self-incriminate on it would be a good idea. As would taking the evidence to your principle and/or law enforcement.

I'm not a witch, but I come from a spiritual view of it. Honey, let them be. Willing harm on someone really does no good because it will go back to you. I would only physically hurt someone if they were attacking me and I needed to get away or they were attacking someone I loved and we all needed to get away. There's a different between justice and retaliation and punishment. You are not the decider of what punishment will entitle. Retaliation (eye for an eye) doesn't do much either. More often than not it just prolongs suffering.
Honey, I was picked on every now and then in my school days. (I'm 24, I'm not old. Some days I just sound like it lol). They pick on you because you respond back to it. If you let them be eventually they will get bored and leave you alone. You'd be surprised at how well that actually works.
Now, as a side note: just because you didn't feel anything happen to you from 2 years ago doesn't mean that something didn't happen. Something bad doesn't always immediately happen. Maybe you're being picked on again or still because of your response to the incident 2 years ago. Seriously, let it go. It's just better that way, and I speak from personal experience.

I'll make one point, then another. There is Wicca and there those who are Witches. Some Witches have joined the Wicca. Most who Christians would label Witches have not. The Rede has been truncated for the simple reason that many are lazy, In fact,it's like the Christian action of truncating the 10 commandments.

Here is full version of the Rede that is at least 50 years old and still alive to some.

THE WICCAN REDE

Bide the Wiccan Laws we must
In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust.
Live and let live,
Fairly take and fairly give.
Cast the Circle thrice about
To keep the evil spirits out.
To bind the spell every time
Let the spell be spake in rhyme.
Soft of eye and light of touch,
Speak little, listen much.
Deosil go by the waxing moon,
Chanting out the Witches' Rune.
Widdershins go by the waning moon,
Chanting out the baneful rune.
When the Lady's moon is new,
Kiss the hand to her, times two.
When the moon rides at her peak,
Then your heart's desire seek.
Heed the North wind's mighty gale,
Lock the door and drop the sail.
When the wind comes from the South,
Love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the wind blows from the West,
Departed souls will have no rest.
When the wind blows from the East,
Expect the new and set the feast.
Nine woods in the cauldron go,
Burn them fast and burn them slow.
Elder be the Lady's tree,
Burn it not or cursed you'll be.
When the Wheel begins to turn,
Let the Beltane fires burn.
When the Wheel has turned to Yule,
Light the log and the Horned One rules.
Heed ye Flower, Bush and Tree,
By the Lady, blessed be.
Where the rippling waters go,
Cast a stone and truth you'll know.
When ye have a true need,
Hearken not to others' greed.
With a fool no season spend,
Lest ye be counted as his friend.
Merry meet and merry part,
Bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Threefold Law you should,
Three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow,
Wear the blue star on thy brow.
True in Love ever be,
Lest thy lover's false to thee.
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill:
An ye harm none, do what ye will.

Spells of anger only take their due from you in the anger itself. Spells in anger or defense can take their path without harm--the Goddess and God are wise in how to solve without harm. Magick itself will choose no harm when there are many paths to a completion. Always remember you are not of the Gods and you are only beginning the process of a spell. Once stated within a ritual those who follow the Rede perfectly will complete the spell. Though you may believe that your actions bring harm, if a single suggestion of a thought can bring the spells fruition that is how it will be completed.

Do what thou wilt but harm ye none...

I had an experience with a certain group of people deliberately destroying my life. I've also heard of the same happening to catastrophic conclusions to others.

If someone is harming you or your loved ones I believe that the "and harm ye none" covers yourself also. Life is a balance and you should know that being a witch or warlock doesn't exclude you from alot of natural universal laws. If you jump of a roof you'll hit the ground and die and so on. I also believe that the authorities are put here for a reason.

Some things are trivial. How are you going to react? If someone called you a name and it harmed you you would defend yourself by hitting them with a baseball bat. You would be wrong. It would also be wrong to throw a number of destructive curses at an individual just because you imagined some offense.

I strongly believe we can defend ourselves however you should be mindful of the law of return. IF you destroy someone for no good reason IT will come back to you!

The best way for you in your situation is to counter by progression. Look into attracting lots of new friends. Win by succeeding. You will bury your enemy in your success... ;)

The Rede is not the simplistic "do no harm" that many, many un-trained and un-initiated people say it is (and even some initiated folks I know). And not all Witches follow the Rede in any case.

Here's the text of the full thing:

http://www.wicca.com/celtic/wicca/rede.htm

For an explanation of what "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will" actually says and does NOT say, you can read my blog here:

http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-K3GPpiQjerBy98vmr34M7TtLp_Ic?p=563

I also suggest reading this:
http://www.jaguarmoon.org/public/Ethics/Lembke.htm
Here's the important part:

"So how can the Rede fail? It demands mature application. The very term "rede" says as much. It is a series of suggestions, which you must apply in light of the circumstances of your own life. Given good and sufficient reason, you can "violate" any term of the Rede, without breaking it -- because it's not a commandment.

Wicca is a grown-up religion, and it assumes that its adherents will have enough maturity to use their powers wisely. Each Witch, particularly once a certain level of initiation is attained, is essentially autonomous. Each Witch decides the course of his life and makes his own decisions based on his own judgement.

But self-government won't work without self discipline. The Rede fails utterly when applied to people who lack this self-discipline. Freedom is the opportunity to take responsibility for one's own actions. The Rede grants this freedom, and in turn places the responsibility for a Witch's actions entirely on the shoulders of that Witch. "

I cannot give you the permission that you are seeking to do purposely harmful things to others. That's entirely up to your OWN conscience.

I don't *recommend* using magic for revenge.

EDIT: Stephen very kindly posted the text, so there's no need for you to follow my first link.

I'm sorry, but there is no exception to the Wiccan Reede.
If you send negetive energy to this person, it will more then likely return to you. This is known as the three fold law, or the law of return. It's similar to the Budhist concept of karma. There is however a way you can handle this situation, without fear of negative repercusions. What I would suggest you do, is to use a protection spell. You could also ask the Lord and Lady to deliver the karma that, the person in question has incurred. If you do that, the negative energy that person has put in to harrassing you, should return to them, and it would only be their own fault.

Personally I like Crowley's: "Do what you will is the whole of the Law. Love is the Law. Love under Will."
This is just stating that whatever you do should be done from love, and that what you do and from what emotion you do it, is subject to your will.

But as for your question, every action/cause has an effect. Some state that as karma.

You can do spells for protection, justice, to diffuse their influence, shielding, etc. In this way you are doing something about the situation, but not necessarily causing them harm. They are just reaping the benefits they sowed. ;) You can always mirror what they are sending to you back at them. And don't let them know you are upset or mad, they do some of this for your reaction.

As long as you are willing for the repercussions of your actions, whatever they may be, then do what you want.

As a witch you have to understand the laws of nature and how things work. Energy whether it is negativ or positive, once sent out will come back. Everytime those kids do something like that they are just adding fuel to the fire. You don't need to give them a taste of magick. They are burying themselves. Karma is not something to mess around with. Don't worry about them. They will get what they deserve, even if you aren't there to see it. If you take matters into your own hands, then you asking for bad things to be brought upon you.

It may seem fair to take action in the name of justice, but the truth is that if you do that you are taking the laws of nature into your own hands and that is not a wise thing to do. Life is about balance and it will balance itself out all on its own.

For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction. I think the term "harm" is in one's own views. Defend yourself, don't let them walk all over you. But what ever you do is up to you. Am I making sense? Sorry if things are jumbled. Just ask me if you need a ummm less confusing version of this.

Blessed Be

Rules are there for two reasons:
1. Your own protection
2. The price you pay for assistance

Leave the rules at your own peril or join in a new covenant if you no longer are willing to accept the rules of the old one. I advise against it though. Part of mysticism is being borne by powers stronger than you and guiding your own transformation by them. How are you "guiding" the transformation they are forcing upon you? Who is really winning here if you allow them to elicity reactions and subvert your goodness into pettiness?
