This year there have only been two sightings of nessie. Some people think she is a prehistoric sort of dinosaur, other think its a gigantic eel.
Im not sure because i havent actually been to loch ness myself, but im open to beleive there may be a creature down there.
Why hasnt a scientific expedition been carried out, on the same scale as finding titanic?

for as long as this myth as been around i would think the orginal nessy is dead. ....The ocean floor is unexplored God knows what's down there. I don't think there is a loch ness...with the age of cell phones i would think there would be a good picture of it..but then again...like i said the ocean floor is unexlpored so you never know what's down there.

Nessie exists because that's how the people want it. The people of the Island of Britain are mad about mysteries.
In all probability Nessie [ye Loch Ness Monster] was probably created in the 19th century as a way of promoting tourism to the area of Loch Ness.
Peter Scott [artist and son of Capt Scott of the Antarctic] certainly believed in Nessie and even painted a picture of the wee beastie [large under water mouse creature].
I've seen plenty of fuzzy film of Nessie over the years. I'd give Nessie about 8 out of 10 for effort and support the idea of the actuality of Nessie.
Why not?

The evidence for a large Dinosaur type animal in Loch Ness is so extremely poor as to rather prove otherwise. Any such animal or group of animals would have to survive without breathing regularly, eating or giving birth.
Apart from the fact that aquatic Dinosaurs and reptiles layed their eggs on land, obviously surfaced to breathe very often and would have consumed vast amounts of food - there isn't much food to support such creatures in the Loch - the area itself was frozen solid during the last ice age.
It would be superb if an unknown animal inhabited Loch Ness, but on the balance of evidence, including eye witnesses and sonar readings it appears that is not the case.
Mistaken identity, popular myth, fraud and known species, such as the enormous Sturgeon are far more likely to be the reality behind the legend of the Loch Ness Monster.

Yes there is a Loch ness monster, I have personally seen it, I fed it, it's favourite food is Pizza not to much cheese, and you enquiry about the scientific research, I can inform you that about 10 years a massive hunt was organised, using camera's underwater starting one end and finishing the other, the result was not conclusive, so if you want to see the fellow he's harmless just visit Loch Ness and you will see for your self, the Loch is very deep and there are numerous tunnels and caves some of which join other Lochs and the sea so it would be impossible to guarantee he in the Loch at any given time, Nessy is obviously related to the frog who always return to there beginning to bread.

PreChristian Celts followed an animist religion. Everything had a spirit which reflected its nature.
Loch Ness is huge: it's usually calm, but sudden storms can make it treacherous. The bank is very steep and cattle often fall in and drown. So the spirit of Loch Ness is a great monster that's usually quite amiable but has a violent temper and eats cows.
This of course has nothing to do with dear Nessie who's currently in Hollywood starring in the Thing That Ripped Your Mother's Leg Off 2.
There is a monster in Loch Ness
It cannae be denied
She's got more charm than a movie star
And a wiggle ten miles wide.

Nessie isn't a creature, yet a inhabitants of incredibly secretive Plesiosaurs. they're concerning reptiles, no longer dinosaurs and that they seem to be a carnivorous aquatic genus which have existed with the aid of fact the Jurassic era. human beings think of they died out during th ok-T extinction, yet they do certainly thrive interior the depths of the Loch Ness.

I beleive that while he was staying in the Boleskin House located right next to Loch Ness, Aleister Crowley summoned some demonic forces which may be atributed to the sightings of the Monster of Loch Ness. Just visiting the Loch you can tell that something is amis and there are some strange forces about.

A scientific expidition was carried out in the early 90's.
They formed a line a boats across the width of Loc Ness, each with sonar equipment...they ran the length of the lake and found nothing.
I too believe that 'nessy' still exisist...even if only in legends.

Yes of course there is a monster in Loch Ness. in fact more than one. The loch is so deep with under-water tunnels leading all over the highlands. It costs too much to instigate such a search of that scale.

There was a scientific expedition where they had special equipment which could dected large amounts of air underwater. They did the wholeloch and got nothing. I think trying to find out if it does exist is stupid though, because if they actually found it they would probably take it out of the loch and do experiments on it. I think people should just except it as an unsolvable myth.
