As a long time Sox fan, I am always a little happier when we win and the Yankees lose. But.........In this situation I would much rather play the Yankees. They haven't been the same team as they used to be. I am not looking forward to playing the scorching hot Tribe in the ALCS.

P.S I hope that Steinbrenner was not serious, otherwise the rivalry will be gone for a while.

Whatever....everyone hates the Yankees because it is the cool thing to do. So good job.
Only the AL East teams...mainly Boston and their fans should "hate" the Yankees. And the Mets can go there also. Everyone else is just doing it because they hate that NYY has money and uses it. I bet you wouldn't be talking crap if your team was bought by a rich dude who spent 200 million on your team.
Hating the Yankees is cool so everyone does it....I like when people who are fans of NL teams or whatever hate the Yankees. Who cares?!

The Yankees are the only team that, when they lose, not only is the rest of the country happy, but half the people in their own city are happy. Yanks and Phils are both gone. The pain for this Mets fan is still there, but it's gone down a bit.

I used to hate the Yankees but don't anymore. I don't like them but I do admire Torre and Jeter. Still, I am glad they lost.

I'm not. I hate the Yankees, but I would love to see them get their asses handed to them by the Red Sox. That's who I'm rooting to win it all.

Tribe deserves it.
They played hard.
