I highly doubt it. Torre was the Cards manager for 5 years in the 90's. I think that if Torre is fired, he will retire. As for La Russa, I think he stays in St. Louis. It's only one bad season. With all the bad things that happened to the Cards, I'm surprised they even managed to end the season in 3rd place.

I don't remember where, but I read a rumor that the General Manager of the Cardinals and LaRussa may both go to Seattle. I doubt that will happen because a few days ago, I read in the newspaper that Seattle's general managerwill retyurn next year. But still, anything can happen. The Mariners could use a good manager like LaRussa. A new general manager would be nice too.

Joe Torre has aways introduced integrity to the table. i won't be able to say the comparable for LaRussa. i isn't confident, in keeping with my very own study that LaRussa grow to be blind to the "drug shop environment" that got here approximately in his Oakland A's clubhouse. while a supervisor of a substantial league baseball group knowingly helps steroid use via his gamers with a view to earnings unfair earnings over their friends, a line could desire to be drawn. Like his former gamers, LaRussa has no business enterprise in baseball. Giambi grow to affix the group and that i've got continually maintained that the Yankees make a substantial mistake in bringing him to the Bronx. in terms of success, Torre has it throughout LaRussa. there is not any longer something LaRussa can deliver to the table that should coach for a minute that he could be rather well worth the attempt and time. LaRussa can rot in St. Louis so a techniques as i'm worried.

He was there and done that once back around 1990 with decent, results, no post season though.
I think it will be interesting to see how good of a manager he really is once he leaves New York.
I don't think he won anything before going to New York, and I wonder if he could win anything after leaving a 200 million payroll team behind.
I don't think he goes to the Cards.

It would not suprise me in the least if they switched job. Torre to St. Louis and LaRussa to the Yankees.

If Torre is done with the Yankees, then he retires. I seriously doubt at his age that he would start over with a different team.
