i am a sophmore in college, and i want to transfer after this year to a large university. however, the only drawback is that i hear its hard to make friends when you transfer to a new school because people already have their group of friends that they hang out with.

how will i be able to make friends at a new school?

i think you will, there are a lot of group projects you have to do...you can join a study or interest group. it will be the same, just on a larger scale. oh and if you live on campus itll be easy. i wouldnt be too worried. If you want friends, people will flock to you...everyone wants more friends (well, most people). sure some are stuck up, threatened by newcomers but there is always others looking for something new

If it's a large school, you are going to be meeting people in classes you've never even seen before. Everyone will. Just talk to people that sit around you, or that are lab partners with you, etc. Just ask them if they know anything about the class, the professor, and that should at least start a conversation with them. I think you'll be fine...I rarely talk to anyone in my classes and I have several friends in all of them.

Don't worry about making friends. You're going to college to get a degree, right? The point of school isn't to meet people. Over all, it all depends on your personality, not the fact that other people have groups of friends already. People are constantly making new friends, and it's not like every college student has the same circle of friends from beginning to end. Not even high school is like that.

It can be. However, one of the advantages of a large university is that there are lots of people around, and clubs for just about every interest. Get involved in extracurriculars, find people to study with in your classes, and you'll be all right.

It doesn't depend on the school -- it depends on you. If you make friends easily, then that will be true at a new college. If you keep to yourself, then you won't make friends no matter where you go.
