Taping the other teams defensive signal calls was not illegal until the Jets game, and the NFL took the tape, which was less than one quarter. The Pats could not have benefited by breaking the rules, which they admit they did, so when will people stop calling them cheaters?
If it had been someone other than the Patriots, would it have been a big deal? I think they would have taken the tape, and warned them.

Not if you keep bringing it up. The Patriots are being watched closer than any other team now, people need to get over it. Most of the previous coaches, like Parcells, Johnson and some others have all said they did the same thing. For those of you who think your team is without sin, grow up. As to the person that said you can't be a Pat's fan unless you are from New England is an idiot. I was a Pat's fan 20 years ago, and I am no where near New England. This crap is being brought up again because everyone knows they are going to roll over the Cowboys and their excuse will be because they cheated. They are even accusing Buffalo of cheating.

Will the Patriots give back their super bowl rings?
Taping the other teams defensive signal calls is cheated by the RULES OF THE NFL!!! It has always been that way. The Jets weren't the first to catch them either. The Packers last season found an unauthorized New England Staffer with a camcorder on the Packers sideline. The Camera was confiscated, but no further action was take by the NFL to investigate the situation.
Were they doing it in their super bowls? Maybe.
I think so. Look at the Super Bowl against Philly. They had almost no offensive production in the first half then somehow after half time they seemed to know every time the Eagles were going to blitz and they throw would a screen pass over top of the rush to pick good yardage.
Hmmmm........ I wonder if that video tape of the Phillys coach calling in Defensives plays helped them pick up on when the Philly Defensive were going to blitz, or maybe it was just really, REALLY lucky play calling.
The New England Patriots are Cheaters. That is the fact of the matter, no questions asked.

B.S. it wasn't illegal. Man you are making crap up. It has been ILLEGAL for about 3 or 4 years, and wasn't illegal before that because it was UNWRITTEN LAW. They finally wrote it down. Heck they ADMITTED they cheated, that is what breaking the rules is, so why should we stop thinking they cheated. If the Patriots would have fired Belicheat they may have got a pass. This man has a HISTORY of cheating. First off he had tapes on EVERY team. The Packers DID just warn the guy and let it go. Belicheat wasn't going to stop until the NFL stepped in though. Let's review his actions at Cleveland when he used to have players practice without names or numbers on their jersey(and that is fact). Do you know why? Well according to an employee with the Browns at that time it was because he would have SPARE PLAYERS on the field. Players that WEREN'T on the Roster. Once a cheater always a cheater, and he proves it.
Oh and some other teams WOULD suffer the same kind of outcry. The Steelers are considered to be the team with the most integrity by most analysts. Imagine if they were caught cheating. There would be endless outcry. Now if it was a team like the Raiders, everyone would expect it. It depends on the end of the scale you are on. The Patriots used to be considered a classy team with a classless coach. That all got called into question when they were CAUGHT cheating. Oh and if you want to argue about their Coach's class, trust me you would lose and if you are a bandwagon fan you might learn something.

Wake the F**K up! It's not a Patriot hater that says they were cheating, it's the commissioner of the NFL & the team themselves admitted that it was true. Does it take a house to fall on you to see what the issue is here? I guess that a winning record makes anything excusable. Next, what do you say that they have Peyton Manning killed to slow the Colts down. Why not? They broke the law already & apparently "fans" like you seem to gloss it over as if it's no big deal. To your way of thinking, you can go ahead & break the rules all you want to justify anything as long as there's a new SB trophy attached. So what that they WERE already warned & just kept right on doing it. They're the Patriots & above these silly rules. Just because OJ got away with murder, you seem to think the Fats should too. Sorry! That bonehead coach should be suspended for life as well as the owner.

Uh, taping signals has ALWAYS been illegal. The Pats will always be called cheaters. Why? Because what they did constitutes as cheating. I am sure every team in the NFL does or has done this at some point, but the Pats got caught. If any other team got caught, they would be punished just the same.

Geez Louise, lighten up folks! The signals are there for anyone to see. The NFL is big business. So the Patriots FILMED the sidelines. Every other coach in the NFL was studying their tapes and putting 2+2 together. Belichick will do whatever's necessary to gain a competitive edge. I don't think it's any big deal because everybody else is doing it rather they admit to it or not.

F the Patriots, right in their cheating earholes.
So, I guess the answer is "Not any time soon."
Eventually it will pass, but once a cheater...always a cheater.
The label will stick. Like a crime, it's part of their history. A person that commits homicide will always be a murderer. It can't be taken back. It can't be undone.
And people that don't like a particular team have a VERY good memory for these types of things.
I'm a Colts fan, so I relish having something to throw in Patriots fans faces, but I only do it for fun and as a way to get under my friend's skin. I don't particularly care whether they did it, but (for their sake) they'd better not do it again, or anything like it, or they'll be stuck with a penalty a lot worse than the slap on the wrist they received.
And whether they benefited or not is unimportant. They BLATANTLY broke a rule in a billion dollar industry that relies on fans (and their faith that the games are played on a level field), and the commish had to punish them with a tangible punishment. He had no choice.
It may have been a different punishment for a different team, but it could have been worse, or it could been lighter. We'll never know.

Taping was illegal before the Jets game . Last year Green Bay caught them but just made them stop . I don't think it's Patriot- haters it's the cheating that most people can not condone . Although I'm not a Patriot fan I used to admire their accomplishments . Now there is a gray cloud hanging over their victories and that's sad .

Taping signals has always been illegal and the NFL took tapes from the patriots that all the teams they played for many years. This rule did not just take effect the day of the jets game.Bill Beli-cheat had a library of tapes of signals. So they are cheaters and who knows how many superbowls they stole by using this unfair advantage. They must not have thought the could win by playing fairly.

I hope you so called "Patriot Fans" don't hurt yourself climbing back onto the bandwagon! I live in Southern CA and the only thing that makes me sicker than all of the fairweather San Diego fans from last year with their #21 Tomlinson jerseys who are nowhere to be seen this year, are all of the so called "Patriort Fans" that have crawled out from under all the rocks.
I was at a BJ's Pizza the other weekend and there were two guys in Patriots jerseys laughing as the Chargers lost to the Chiefs. I asked them what part of New England they were from?
"We're not from New England" one of the guys said.
"So how many times do you visit relatives there" I asked.
"We don't have relatives in New Enlgand" they said.
"Have you ever even been to New England" I asked?
One of the guys said "Yeah, I visited Phillidelphia once."
Nuff said! Typical idiot bandwagoneers! Wearing Patriots jerseys in a bar in Southern CA when they're not from New England, don't have family in New England, and apparently don't even know where New England is. But hey, let's chear for the 5-0 team! You all make me SICK!
