Yes. For starters. The Blackwater people are mercenaries--killers for hire. And a disgrace to America.

It is hard to believe that there was actually a Neocon on here saying that if you have a contract, you are above the law.
I have a contract to lease a house. Does this mean I have free reign to murder people? Seems unlikely. Why are Republicans so weak on crime.
If Blackwater murdered those people, and the evidence indicates that they did, then they need to pay repairations. People also should go to jail (murder is murder, even if they are Arabs).
Either the Iraqis can sue and win in court and get some money or Blackwater can settle out of court. It is the American way.

A terrorist armed with a vehicle bomb assaults a State Dept convoy ensuing in 8 civilians killed and 13 greater wounded. no person even knows what relatively occurred it remains under study. the reality that a vehicle bomb exploded in a highway may lead me to have self belief a minimum of lots of the casualties have been concerning the explosion. the article even says that that's "believed to be working for Blackwater us of a opened hearth on civilians Sunday..." we are waiting to persecute those with out even understanding lots of the data no longer to point all of them. the phenomenal factor right this is that we are nervous relating to the capturing, yet no longer worried relating to the vehicle bomb, the terrorist using it, or the reality that happen in distinct numbers on a daily basis by the country. whilst are we going to hold those in charge ordering those assaults against harmless human beings, incredibly than the persons attempting to circumvent it?

I think that amount is too high. If it is determined that Blackwater was in the wrong, then they should be required to pay adequate compensation (enough to support them for at least 20 years) and their operations in Iraq should come into question as to whether they can continue. If they are not in the wrong, they should pay nothing.

If the families are smart, they'll hire a good American lawyer to sue Blackwater. I hear John Edwards is available.

I think that Blackwater is liable for the killings, but $136 million is bit high for a country were the average worker makes about $10/day.
Especially considering that those fines will be passed onto the US State Department and ultimately paid by the US taxpayer.

Since they were operating on an EXPIRED CONTRACT I think the entire Corporation should be liquidated, and the funds split equally between all victims of the over 200 "incidents" Blackwater has been involved in.
They are a disgrace. Plain jackbooted THUGS.

Yes. They shouldn't even be in business in Iraq. Our government has no business discarding its official functions, especially military guard duties, and moving that responsibility to private companies. Blackwater is a company of mercenaries paid to fight in the Iraq War, the sooner they are removed from there the better.

Hey, I have an idea! Why don't we wait for the official investigation to find out what really happened?
Nah! Jumping to conclusions is much more fun!
