The Curse Of The Giambino:

When Tino became our first baseman in 1996, he helped lead us to 5 world series, 4 of which we won. Since he was traded and Jason Giambi was acquired, the Yankees have not won a world series.

Don "The Jinx" Mattingly

Yankees did not win a world series while Don Mattingly was our first baseman, but we had major success right after his retirement. Ever since becoming a coach, the Yankees have not won a world series.

I don't know about Donnie being a Jinx, but I really believe the first one. I think Giambi cursed the team when Tino was traded. Feel free to add other ones that you believe in.

Position players have not been the problem. Pitching has been.
The Yanks offense has been superior to any other team, especially with A-Rod averaging more home runs and RBIs than any other player in history, except Babe Ruth, during the regular season. In the post season, however, the Yanks have been stymied by superior pitching. Offense gets you into the playoffs, but pitching wins playoffs.

There are no myths about the Yankees. Quit making
excuses, the Yankees were beaten fair and square.
It's very obvious the Tribe was the better team.
Don't worry, Uncle George will open his wallet this
off season, and buy a lot of good players .
We'll be hearing this same old crap next season,
and then the next, then the next, the next, the...............

I do know since Jeter was named captain, they have zero world series wins. Not sure what you'd call that one, the overrated myth? LOL
