Are You sure that You are not talking a bout a "Codex" or a "Codicile" ? Either word could have changed over the years due to what is known as 'continental drift'. It is were a foreign word is misspronounced and that pronunciation becomes the new way of saying it.

Kudasai in its imperative form is extremely common in Japanese. It may mean either 'please give me' or it may be used in combination with another verb in the construction -te kudasai 'please (do something for me)'.
