Unless the job requirement is mandated (not allowed to work near kids, for example), a felon can get a job anywhere legally. Like anyone who knows how hard it is to build your credit or for that matter trust with someone, start looking locally. Churches, and independent businesses are good about giving someone a second chance. After re-buiding the trust and resume, look for other opportunities.
Best of luck

I am a felon and it has never stopped me from getting any job (outside law enforcement and bar-tending) be up front with an employer and usually it won't be an issue. For an employer it is a decision based of what the crime was, how long ago was it, is your "time" done, does that crime relate to my business and who and how you represented yourself.

In order to get that better job you need that better skill and attitude. For those of us that have this tag we also know that we MUST do the task at hand in the best possible way. The best thing you can do is to start wherever you can get a job and work up from there. Everyone gets a start somewhere, it's up to you where you go from there.
