My husband and I were pen-pals, back in the early nineties when there was no widespread internet. we wrote to each other for 6 years as part of a club based in Finland called International Youth Service. One day when i had no place to go on vacation I called him and i went to visit him, we fell in love and "dated" from country to country for 2 years before getting married. Since he was still a student and was always broke I was the one doing most of the traveling. we'll be married for 8 years this year and we now have a business and two beautiful children. We keep traveling because we love it so much! A lot of the traveling is to my home country to visit family.

Delina that is a very nice story about how your relationship began with your partner. Congrats on being together for 8 years and may you have many more years as a team and enjoy live together. My wife and I met on-line almost 4 years ago. I had been in a number of failed relationships and have to be honest I felt like the biggest loser on this earth for turning to a machine to help me met people. We chatted on line for a couple of months and then she finally agreed to give me her real name (not just her alias on line) and phone number. Then many hours were spent on the phone chatting before we decided to meet up in person. We live 2.5 hours from each other and so decided to meet half way. We met at a donut shop and then went and sat by the water and talked about live, our goals, our dreams for the future and the fact that neither of us wanted to ever get married again. Well one thing led to another and before you knew it we were seeing each other each and every weekend. One of us would travel to the other's city and visit for the weekend. Over this time we went through a lot of things together, health issues etc. and became very much in love. As well we each had three children from previous relationships and they all accepted us as a team would often comment on how happy we were and that they had never seen either of us that happy etc., etc. Well I am uncertain as to what the heck happened but one night I asked her to marry and dam if she didn't accept. So on May 20 of this year we tied the knot and things have never been so good in either of our lives as they have been over the past 4 years. So going from initially being embarrassed to having used the computer as a dating service, today I am grateful that this means was available to meet people or we may have never had this chance.

I met my husband on the Internet. We both visited the same chat room on an on again/off again basis; but never spoke through IM. Then one day I mentioned that I was recovering from a devistating break-up. He mentioned he was in the same boat. We decided to IM and low and behold, the loves of our lives had dumped us at about the same time. We comiserated for about a year, sharing tales of woe and bad dates... and then he asked if I'd be interested in travelling to England (I'm American) to see him. I thought why not? I have no children and nothing to lose. So I did; and we clicked; and the rest is history. It's over five years since we met on screen; four years since our first IM; three years since our first face-to-face, and next month we'll celebrate two years of marriage.

My sister and brother in law fixed us up. All three of them used to work together 7 or 8 years ago. My sis told her husband that I really needed to go out with a great guy that would sweep me off my feet! That's when they decided to fix us up. We've now been together for 3 1/2 years and got married in June!

I met my husband at subway! We were both going there for lunch everyday and the lady that worked there was saving the subway stamps for me from my husband (but i didn't know him at the time) finally one day he came into my work and said to me "He didn't save you any subway stamps today did he? It took me a minute to realize it was him...so he asked me out and we have been together since then.....THANKS SUBWAY!!!!!
