All animals smell. Mice are quite easy to keep.
If you keep the cage nice and clean each week, you will not get a build up of nasty smells.
All animals smell, as its part of the genetic make-up to encourage breeding , also a protective defence. I.E. skunks do to. But keep the cage nice and clean and you will just smell the sawdust etc.

Mice smell of mice. Male mice often have a stronger musky mouse smell.

What usually smells with small animals is not the animal but the cage and accessories. If the bedding is changed frequently and the cage and toys all cleaned then any unpleasant smells will be kept to a minimum.

You should look to getting at least 2 mice as they are very social. Get them the biggest cage you can afford and have space for - most cages marketed for mice are far too small. But make sure the bar spacing is very narrow (under 1cm) or they might escape. Mice love to climb and they have sensitive respiratory systems and so tanks are not very suitable for them.

Care is fairly easy. Take them out to play every day. feed every day and change water every day. Clean cage thoroughly once a week. Take them to the vets if they show any signs of illness.

They are nice little pets if you are prepared to care for them.

No not hard to take care of, just once or twice a week cleaning really, and you have to buy them a big cage and loads of stuff to keep them busy. I'm afraid they do kind of smell - well, more than hamsters certainly, who don't smell at all in my experience.

I had two mice first and they mostly lived in my room and only went back to their cage to eat, so they didn't really smell too bad - but the fact of the matter is, the 'mouse smell' that they have on their little bodies is really quite pungent! I had 4 mice next and they lived mostly in a big wire cage, and having four together stunk pretty darn bad - had to clean them at least twice a week to keep it under control!

I would just say to your parents " they don't smell!" and then if possible, keep them in a room your parents don't go in much, and clean them out a lot, you'll get away with it! :-) The only expensive thing with them the cage, get the biggest one you can afford. It's fun buying - or making - toys for them, and a big bag of mouse food goes a very long way.

Mice are really easy to take care of, but they smell horrible. I dont think it's the actual mouse that smells bad, it's just the bedding they use that soaks up all of their, well, droppings and urine. They can be a lot of fun though.

Mice are easy to take care of. To avoid problems with odor get only females and keep them in a glass aquarium. The urine of the males has a strong odor.
