seeing the word "ludicrous" written from the pros everytime the McCanns are mentioned in a bad light with regards to the investigation.

Who wants to help me bring a broader range of words to Y!A?

I'll start:

ABSURD

LAUGHABLE....

Well, I checked the dictionary & thesaurus, and your selections are right on, and I think I'd toss in 'RIDICULOUS' as well. But somehow seeing those 3 alternates, I'm just not as affected by the words as much as I am by 'ludicrous'. It just seems to have more emphasis, or feeling behind it than the others.

It is unfortunate that that's about the sum total of choices, without having to really dig deep! (I will grant you that there may be a couple of other choices available, but I'm not really hopeful!) No, wait. How about "comical" Nah, doesn't quite fit in this instance. Maybe "sadly comical"? I guess that's closer, but in this case (the McCanns) the feeling surrounding the situation is just not funny, so words that strongly imply humor just seem wrong.

So I guess I stand behind my opinion that the word "ludicrous" has a deeper, stronger feeling to it, as if there's a certain conviction or seriousness that goes along with it. But I certainly do understand how you feel when something is repeated over and over in such a short period of time like that.

Good luck in changing the world - or even a little part of it! At least you're trying!

I think its actually a Team McCann word, I seem to recall seeing various interviews of the McCann's, their family and that Justine McGuiness one on telly, and sat there counting how many times they said the word "ludicrous"

Also "ludicrous" is the same word David Beckham chose to use when asked if he had an affair with Rebecca Loos!

We all know the parents know more to this case than they are telling PLUS the frenzy is generating a fortune and selling papers - does that answer it??!!

Remember, thousands of children, teenagers, old folk vanish without a trace every year - why has this one case got all the attention?

Even the Police are pissed off - in the UK, everytime a person sees a little blond kid they call the Police which is hampering the investigation.

All this is not any longer stable with the aid of fact he's your cousin, yet once you cherished it and you have had sexual fantasies approximately him, then i could propose staying remote from him, with the aid of fact in any different case it is going to impression your kinfolk with your loved ones. And definite, i think of it became into purely with the aid of fact of "morning wood", even though it might desire to have not been, I propose how do you realize if he hasn't had fantasies approximately you?

Why worry about it at all - the interest is rapidly waning now judging by the lack of McCann questions cropping up ! ! !

I'm COMPLETELY SICK of people who write inane questions, and then put the "real" question in the "details" section, as if they think that making the question vague will get more responses. WRONG! Most people will completely ignore poorly worded questions, and some will even go to great lengths to tell the "asker" to shape up or ship out! (can't imagine anyone like that, though!) ;)

I think this question is ludicrous, laughable and absurd.

Does this come into the same category.

Maybe you should find a hobby or better still a job. You so obviously have plenty of time on your hands. Maybe you would be more benificial to society if you did.
