Gee, I dunno. I do recall that Israel 'gave back' Gaza, 'gave back' a really big chunk of Egypt, 'gave back' a significant part of the W. Bank, and a decade ago offered to 'give back' 90% of the rest of it....and the balance later as the 'piece' process moved along. The only thing Israel wanted was that they be left alone. No deal...Arafat insisted that ten million arabs be allowed to 'return' to Israel.....like that was going to happen! Sometimes i wonder about you people...if you don't like Jews, just say so!

The US is not leading middle East peace efforts, in fact the US is the main country against any peace effort in the Middle East.

Could they be trying take lands they would know would have to be traded back in any agreement but would allow them to keep the lands they have and not face withdrawing from lands they have occupied for years?

After some of the announcements I've seen over the past couple of days it doesn't seem to make sense. I would need to wait for some explanation from Israeli officials on this because it doesn't make much sense to me.......

Actually, Israel claims Jeruselum as their own and would make it THEIR CAPITAL if the U.S. and other foreign countries would let them.
I guess in order to become a top contributor you just have to ask a lot of questions (stupid or otherwise), right?

Because they're not stupid enough to believe the "palestinians" have any interest in peace. They kill Jews for sport, even though they are the ones living in what was Jewish land since 3000 BC.
If I were in charge of Israel, I would never give the arabs another desert hellhole jihad camp from which they could kill my people.
To the guy below me - Jerusalem is theirs, was theirs, and should always be theirs. There was no such thing as palestine until the romans, byzantines, jihadi caliphates, and crusaders tossed the israelites out of their homeland and they have come to reclame it as they rightfully should
