I have the above credentials, I've taken challenging courses in high school (AP, honors, etc.), I'm in National Honors Society, and I'm the Senior Editor of my school's paper. I am from South Dakota, and I've already applied. My mediocre ACT score is the only thing that worries me -- will I get in?

Minnesota has a different model from other states. Many states have a number of universities & have one that is much more elite than the others. Berkeley, Michigan, Virginia, UNC at Chapel Hill are all examples. These schools are very selective.

Minnesota decided to have a large university that offers a first class education -- but is less selective than those other public universities.

You will probably ge tin. You might think about takinjg the SAT exam. You might get a better score on that than on the ACT.

Duh you can, you can practically go into almost any university with that grade. Also 26 is not a mediocre score, it is in the higher average. The average is 21 out of 36 points.
