For the first problem of no sound.. if you have a sound card, you need to throw the cd back in there and install the drivers. If you do not, pop the side of the shell off and look at the brand and model of your motherboard then go to their website and search for "chipsets", this will have your sound files in it.

For the default monitor option, your video drivers need to be reinstalled. Same for the sound, if you have a card, throw the cd back in there. If you dont, go to the manufacture website and download the video drivers according to your computer type.

You do not have the correct drivers installed. You need the drivers for the video card (not the monitor as that can stay as default) and for the sound card. If you do not know what cards you have (as they could be on-board) open the box and take a look. You may see enough to give you a clue. You can also read the documentation that came with your system or go on-line to see what your system was built with.

You need to boot from the CD / DVD. Go into your BIOS (watch the POST for how to do this, usually delete or an "F" key) Once in your BIOS look for Boot Options. Set CD first and put Hard drive 0 second. Save and exit. Once you boot again the drive should be recognized as having bootable media. "Press any key to boot from CD" or something of the like should display. Hit a key and the installation should start.

You are missing drivers for you sound and video cards.

You will have to find then, the CDs that (may have) came with your computer should have them. If you dont have any CDs that came with your computer, you will have to search from the drivers on the internet.

You need to get the video and sound drivers. If your network card is working go online and search the models of your video and sound cards to get the drivers.

Install your motherboard, sound, and video card drivers. Depending on the maker of your pc you may have to find out what motherboard you have and go to their website and download them.
