OK am I having deja vu or did I just answer this question???

Anyway here is a shortened version of what I think I may have already said.

1. Neighborhood
a. children's activities, like sports (swim teams etc can get whole families together)
b. many neighborhoods have newsletters (mine does and have things like tennis ladders, book clubs etc... get involved in your neighborhood
2. School as you have a 6 y/o he/she will go to a school (public or private) get involved in school activities many parents meet friends through their kids school activities
3. Local social/Service Clubs like the junior league or the Jaycees or other such organizations have both service and social activities and opportunities to meet friends
4. Activity Based Clubs- If you have special interests (my family likes boating) you can meet other families at clubs for special interest like adventure, scuba, bicycling, yachting, walking, pet, quilting and other such clubs, most have monthly activities and social activities.
5. Church - I usually don't stress this issue, as many people have strong feelings regarding religion. However, If you have a religious affiliation, it can be a great place to meet people with families, and they often have mother's day out programs.

And welcome to San Antonio, It's a great city, and a wonderful place to raise a family.
