I got hand-me-downs from cousins when I was a kid, it really didn't bother me. Now I love thrift shops and resale shops (great clothes at reasonable prices); so I guess I still wear hand-me-downs of a sort. People seem to love my style, because I'm not dressed like every other person on the street.

I didn't wear hand-me-downs as a child because I am the oldest child in my family, so there was nothing to hand down TO me (and my cousins are 10 and 12 years older than I am, so by the time I came along, their mother had already gotten rid of most of their clothes).

However, I DO wear hand-me-downs sometimes as an adult, because I am small, so when people outgrow clothes, they give them to me. I've gotten some nice sweaters and a cute skirt that I always get compliments on that way!

As a kid - I was the first born in my family, but have older cousins. So, I got a lot of clothes that way. It's funny to look at family pictures and see who's wearing that dress-up dress that made it through at least 4 girls over the years.

As an adult, I don't have anyone to hand them down to me, but I'm an avid thrift store or Goodwill store shopper.

I used to wear secodn hand clothes which is basicly the same as hand me downs....I had a single mother supporting two kids and assisting her mother...NOW i wear thrift store stuff because it's soo much cheaper...I'm not some sort of snob that needs to pay 100 dollars for a pair of jeans to make me feel special...although i like and buy some brand new clothes..i'm not much of a big spender on them.....

I've never worn hand-me-downs as a kid.

As an adult, certainly. If they're of good quality, have been thoroughly washed, if they fit and I need 'em certainly! I gave up trying to be cool in high school...

No, I came along 12 years after my siblings. I have gone to a consignment shop when I was losing weight cause I had to buy clothes so frequently and didn't want to spend much on something I only wore a couple months.

yes
If that is what could get from family members if I was down on my luck financially. Plus Goodwill stores like Salvation Army they have some nice looking refurbished second hand clothing.

No...and No. There was no one to give me used clothing in my size when I was a child, that I know of. My brother was 12 years older. I did once buy a sweater in a thrift shop that I really liked, but that was unusual.
