I think it all depends on the candidate, not the party.. there are still people who vote on issues in this world not poll numbers and party affiliation

There is no one political party that the police or fire department vote for. There are some areas that have more Republicans and areas that have more Democrats. This has absolutely nothing to do with being conservative or liberal.
