I am reminded of the tourist who went to see the bullfights in one town in Spain. Afterwards he had dinner at a fancy restaurant there. The maitre d brought in a heaping plate of noodles, topped by two enormous meat balls to one of the customers. It smelled wonderful, and there was great fanfare in the presentation of this dish.

Our tourist inquired about it, and learned that it was a special tradition, after the bull fights. So he arranged to have the dish served to himself after the following bullfight.

The next week he came into the restaurant, and again with great fanfare the maitre d' came out of the kitchen with a plate heaping with noodles. But this time, on top, were two tiny meat balls.

The tourist was miffed. He asked, "last week the dish had great big meat balls. Today you give me tiny meatballs. What gives?"

The maitre d responded, "Sir, the bull does not always lose."

Good question, I was wondering the same thing. Maybe because bull fighting made it's way to American culture and is intertwined with society so they felt a need to have a section on it.

That's a good question. I hate bullfighting, but I can't help but think that if it must have its own section, it should be with the other so-called "sports" like hunting and fishing.

because it is one of the spanish culture.... however much it is dangerous for the fighter to be there inside the arena they're still doing it because for them, it is an art... like dance or something..... and it takes a lot of balls to dance with a bull...
