Unequal distribution of resources. I'm not just talking middle class and wealthy. I'm talking about people dying of thirst on the banks of the Ganges river for b/c it's too polluted to drink, while America and Europe spend billions of dollars a year to bottle and buy tap water. Even with 6.5 billion people, this Earth can provide resources enough to feed and sustain us all - if we do it right. But we simply aren't. So, the most important contemporary issue is this - the need for a complete restructuring of the world economy to one not based on gain by a few but on the support of all. It means responsible governments, real international cooperation, and the eventual outlawing of for-profit corporations.
