It's definitely not smooth jazz, since that didn't emerge until the 60's. I'd classify it under "vocal jazz" and possibly "jazz ballad." Look up more music by Ella, as well as music by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin, Bing Crosby...
