WW1 did not begin in Britain. Unless you consider their iperialism, military spending and alliance building as a factor. (but then again all of Europe was doing that)

WW1 began in Serbia where a Serbian nationalist assasinated the arch-duke of what was then the Autria-Hungarian empire. This triggered the events that led the big alliances into the war.

Maybe you mean 'what was the reaction to the beginning of WW1 in Britain?' (thats something different) I think that they were happy about it at the start and thought it was going to be a quick victory and more spoils for the mighty British Empire.

(p.s. - good grammar isn't just about following picky rules, its about making yourself understood better - I'm still not sure exactly what you mean so I am just guessing)

We all celebrated, or at least that's my Grandaddy said. He served in WW1 as an artilleryman. They all thought it would be a quick war, and patriotism meant we though we would win easily.
