I need to change my fuel filter, so someone told me that I need to depressurize the system first by turning the car on and pulling the fuse that controls fuel injection.

Im looking at the manual and it has all the fuses listed and what they are for, but nothing says fuel injection. Would it be under some other name.

There's one about a flash to pass relay (2 actually). Theres a solenoid one. Those are basically a couple of the ones that I don't know what they control. Anyway, could it be one of those? Any help is good help. Thanks

I got it figured out. I didn't bother depressurizing anyway, against my better judgement. I only lost a little fluid maybe a cup or 2. It was an easy fix, and only cost 8 or 9 bucks. Thanks for the info Frank, that is still good to know.

On top of the engine there's a valve that looks just like the valve on you tires. Remove the cap take a small screw driver and push down stem, this will take the pressure off the system, then you can replaced the fuel filter.

If you need to go through all that trouble, and you're little more than an occasional, backyard, mechanic-in-your-dreams, then you should take the car to a service garage (gas station; dealer; whatever) and have them do it for $50, if you bring the filter ($100-$150 if they get the filter).

Besides, you didn't say why you think you need to change your fuel filter, nor do you even mention what vehicle it's for. It's very rare that a fuel filter needs to be changed, so, again, I urge you to think twice about this.
