Whilst it is possible that the MX440-8X would work in your "DDR2 PC", it is most unlikely that it would be an improvement on whatever you have already!
Take a look at the table on tomshardware below - the MX440 is rated lower than the Radeon integrated graphics chipsets!
In fact, as the MX440 offers hardware support for directX 7 only - there will be a number of games which simply will not play.
If you can get it for free, it will be worth exactly what you got it for - nothing at all.

yes mate,as long a you have a compatible agp slot, the NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 is both x4 and x8 compatible and although quite a old card its still pretty good for the average p.c
the other specs wont be a problem, just remember to go into bios if your changing from a onboard adapter and make sure you disable any onboard graphics adapter
and then download the latest forceware drivers for your NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 from http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html
also you need to download and install the latest direct x runtime files from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en,DirectX® is a Windows technology that enables higher performance in graphics and sound when you're playing games or watching video on your PC.
hope this helps
good luck mate !

It would work if you had an AGP card. However if you are planning to buy the MX440, I suggest you save your money.
MX440 is a very old card and will probobly be slower than what you have now, (assuming you have an intergrated and your motherboard is less than two years old, beucase you have DDR2).

Yes, as long as the AGP slot on your motherboard is compatible.

As long as there is a slot for it, it will work. Might not work great, but it will work.
