Those aren't real Indians fans, the majority of Indians fans ARE NOT cocky or arrogant and that's the reason why I have been an Indians fan for so long, and that's why I can't stand some other teams so much is that the majority of their fans do talk trash. I say enjoy the win, and root the Tribe on so we can try to win the ALCS.

I'm a diehard Indians fan and like I said it's because I root for the Indians not to talk trash about other teams. This was just directed at a few, because like I said Indians fans for the most part are good sports.
I do understand the Yankees have been underestimating our Tribe all year and have been talking trash, but we just let our players do it for us by winning the series we showed them what all there trash talking meant in the end.

everyone can do what they want, but I don't like a select few making us Indians fans look bad. That's all I'm saying.

I don't like trash talkers, but you beat the YANKEES, who have the A #1 trash talking fans, so it is probably just retribution. Congratulations to the Indians, but I am a Boston fan. I do wish you luck and if you win I will be rooting for you.

Indians fans listen to Yankee fans all of the time but when we talk trash this is an issue? Get serious. I read somewhere that if you were an Indians fan it was best not to show up at Yankee Stadium because of the abuse you would take - and we are not talking normal trash talk but possible PHYSICAL abuse. Trash talking is part of the game. Check out the NFL playing field sometime. Check out any sport. Also - the United States Constitution allows for freedom of speech. Like I said - check out ANY sport. Look at PRO wrestlers and boxers BEFORE a match. They have no problem trash talking with a mic in their faces. And those are the athletes not the fans. Maybe you should ask some Red Sox fans about all of the trash Indians fans had to endure when they signed Manny Ramirez. You think the Indians fans won't get abused if Boston wins or will the Red Sox fans be graceful? Like I said, get real. If you can't stand the heat, amigo, then get out of the kitchen.

People talk trash on the internet for one main reason, they are faceless and do not actually have to face the people that they are belittling. They can go on and on about useless garbage and there are no repercussions. The only other issue is that they are probably lacking somewhat in the southern region so they need to compensate by running others down!
All these people that say "trash talking is part of the game" have no idea what the game is; they are a prime example of what is wrong with today's society. This is a sport, you cheer on your team, you are dissapointed at losses and happy at wins but stop making yourself look like an idiot by trying to demean everyone else. Trash talk has no place in any sports and unfortunately has become accepted as part of sports...the only part it is part of is "POOR SPORTSMANSHIP". For Cleveland fans to trash talk about someone else being horrible is like a Cubs fan calling someone a loser...when you win like the Yankees have or like any of the past 7, 8 or 59 champions have then you can say that someone else is terrible, until then learn some sportsmanship...thank the Yankees for a good series, cheer for yourself and prepare for another great series against the Red Sox...but SHUT UP about who sucks!

Your team beat the Yankees, dude. Rub it in. Red Sox fans aren't rubbing it in too badly on the Angels, but they aren't the Evil Empire. You can be a nice midwesterner and still join the rest of the nation in enjoying the misery of the New Yorkers.
And even though I'm a Red Sox fan, if the Indians beat us, you should probably talk trash some more, because after Yankees fans, we're the most annoying for sure.

Kevin, I'll speak for myself, since I can't speak for the rest of the trash talkers and I certaintly can't speak for Indians fans as I am not a Cleveland fan, I am a White Sox fan, but unfortunately with the Sox failing to make the playoffs again this year, and the Indians being from the AL Central and playing against the hated Yankees, I was cheering for the Indians to win. So I mean no disrespect and I definately don't mean to tarnish the image of Indians fans. I am just overjoyed to see your team hand the Yankees their butts and watch Sabathia and Carmona and Byrd last night just carve up the Yankees. Being a Sox fan, I've seen what Sabathia and Carmona can do all too often. However, next series, I will be rooting for the Red Sox. I've been a Red Sox fan for ove 10 years, so congrats on the win and best of luck in the ALCS! You are going to need it as the Red Sox counter with Beckett and Schilling. Plus the most powerful duo in the posteason with Ramirez and Ortiz.

I'm a Red Sox fan and I've always liked the Indians, I don't know why some people are talking trash, but to be fair, if it were the Red Sox that smoked the Yankees, I'd be a little cocky myself, so I'm just happy that Jeter and A Rod are home sitting on their couches with the rest of us! :D

We Indians fans aren't cocky or arrogant because we have no reason to be. Last world championship in 1948 & only three series appearances since then. Though we enjoyed moderate success in the 90's, true success is only measured by how many rings you've got.
Without any rings, we'd best keep quiet until we do.
GO TRIBE!!!!!!!!!

Dude I was born and raised a Cleveland sports fan, don't ever question that because I trash talk!!!
Edit: Also if you didn't realize trash talking is a part of sports, fans and players do it. If you can't take or dish it out, then maybe you shouldn't it do it, but the people who do it are having fun with the competative nature of sports.
Edit: Kevin, I have to save up money just to go to a few Cavs games a year because I grew up a huge Cavs and I was with them through the bad times and the good times. I over paid for two tickets to the NBA finals because My Cavs were in the NBA Finals and I don't know the next I will be able to see that in person again. Don't question whether I am fan of any sports team. I have been through the good and bad with all 3 sports in Cleveland and If I want to trash talk and have fun with the opponent fans then I will. You have no right to question who the real fans based on whether they trash talk or not.
Edit: Bdough, it's obvious that you have never played sports all. Trash talking is not something recent, it has been going on for a very long time in sports.

So you are a Cleveland fan because their fans do not talk trash? That sounds like a pretty lame reason. I don't think Pittsburgh fans talk trash, so you have a backup team then.
And you are right - most here are not REAL Indian fans. In fact, we are not Cleveland fans at all. We are here to let those Yankee fans who ran their mouths about 27 in 07 know that we did not forget them. It just so happens that your team was the one to end their season.
