This is why I am so sick of Yankee fans. They can't ever seem to accept the fact that their team is bad. After losing Game 1, they said that in post season history, when the Yankees lose game 1, they go on to win the series every time, blah blah blah. That's exactly why we play the games. Well Yankees lost Game 1, and they now lost the ALDS. Yankee fans said they lost because Wang doesn't pitch good on the road. How long did he last at home last night? 1 inning! Why do Yankee fans continue to bring up historical stats when none of that has any impact on the current season? But look on the bright side, A-Rod got his first RBI in the postseason since 2004. That's a reason enough to through a ticker tape parade.

If the Yankees fire Torre, that would be the worst thing they could ever do. They need to release A-Rod, free up a lot of salary, bring in some young talent and some reliable and strong pitching. Don't re-sign Clemens either, he got paid $3 million for each win.

Aladdin - How would you define success? Are you comfortable with mediocrity? Would you like to be like the Braves, win 14 straight division titles and settle for 1 World Series win? Getting to the playoffs is one thing. Winning in the playoffs is another. If I had it my way, I'd be happy getting to the playoffs once every 5 years and winning it all every time. I don't settle for just making the playoffs. It's 7 straight years of postseason appearances without a World Series title now for the Yankees. I define that as bad.

The Yankees are bad? I'm not a Yankees fan, but that statement doesn't even pass the laugh test. The Yankees may not win the world series every year, but they are almost always first or second in their division; and are almost always in the playoffs.

You can hate the Yankees, but you can't seriously say they are a bad team.

Getting to the playoffs for seven straight years makes a team "bad" just because they don't win the World Series? You say that the Yankees are "bad", but you have a pretty strange definition of "bad".

Is every team that doesn't win the World Series "bad"? In that case 29 teams are "bad". Is every team that doesn't win the LCS "bad"? In that case 28 teams are "bad". Is every team that doesn't win the LDS "bad"? In that case 26 teams are "bad". Is every team that gets swept in the LDS "bad"? In that case 3 teams are "bad" (and the Yankees are not one of them). Is every team that doesn't make it to the playoffs "bad"? In that case 22 teams are "bad" (and the Yankees are not one of them). Is every team that doesn't make it to the playoffs, mediocre at best? In that case, 22 teams are mediocre, at best (and the Yankees are not one of them).

I believe you are taking a quantum leap by suggesting the Yankees have a bad team. While it is true that their pitching came up short I am sure you would agree their offense was stellar. Every fan will define success in a different way and your definition is just one. I define success by fielding a team that has a chance to win every year and an owner willing to do what it takes to win. I don't agree with the approach of Steinbrenner, and believe there are better ways to reach your goals, but Yankees fans know that he will do what he can to come up with a winner and they will be right back in the mix next year.

The reason Yankee fans bring up there history is because no other sports team in history has that much history. I don't know of any other team out there that, following a losing season, have the luxury of doing this. That is the one thing that we will always have on other teams, and I think that's a pretty big one. That's why Red Sox fans bring up the bloody sock every chance they get. It's all they've got.

You're preaching to the choir friend

After years of trash talking from Yankees fans, it's kinda nice to see the shoe on the other foot.
