I'm 5'2 about 105 pounds and I'm 16 years old. I can never find jeans that fit me right. Proportion-wise I have average hips, a bit butt, and thin thighs. The closest I can find to fitting me is a 26 waist and 30 length. But those pants are still big in the legs, and small in the waist. They give me lovehandles, or my stomach hangs over the edge a bit. I'm not a fat person, and I don't want to lose any weight. But I get really self-conscious when my pants don't fit right and aren't flattering. Does anyone else have this problem? And also does someone know where in Canada I can find pants that may fit better? and how much would it cost to get a pair of pants altered?

A 27 waist is just going to be even bigger on my legs though.

You just haven't found the right brand! Don't' give up. Go to a jeans store and try several different cuts and brands cause none of them are the same. They have bootcut, straight leg, flares & wide baggy legs. The waist could be low or mid rise, straight cut, slim fit, classic or loose through the hips. I think you try the relaxed fit, bootcut to start with. Try different combinations, I'm sure you will find one that feels good. You can always get it a little big and have it altered to fit. It just may take some time cause there are so many to try.
Watch Oprah's jean do & don'ts, It will have a short ad or commercial before the video starts.
In one shot she demonstrates how to take the back of the jean and have it altered. http://www.oprah.com/videochannel/videochannel_player.jhtml?video=145&category=17

The length is the easiest fix so make sure they fit in the waist. Jeans will never, ever fit ANYONE off the rack. They need to be tailored and a little nip in the waist is not too hard or expensive to have done. Hemming the length is also an easy inexpensive fix IF they are too long. You can't fix too short without adding something to the bottom which is also in style right now.

I have the same problem. It is so hard for me to find jeans that fit properly. It is all in the jean quality. Two jeans can say they are the same size but fit completely different. You just need to brouse around different stores and brands. If you cant get an exact fit a taylor is your best friend. It is not expensive to have jeans altered. Hope that helped!

I have a problem finding jeans, but because most jeans, especially branded ones are good across my waist but small on my tighs or too big.......I always buy stretch jeans, because they stretch where u need them 2 and still look ok where your body is thinner...u should try some....

You have got to try custom made jeans. I get mine at Make Your Own Jeans. They start at just $45.00. You have total control over the style, fit, cut, everything. I just love them. They really look great and they're comfortable because they fit so well.

Try 27 waist size then, no matter what the length is. I always ask my mom to cut my jeans as they are all 32 length and their shape is the same, nobody could say they have been cut :). Find smb. who is good in modifying trousers and ask him to cut your jeans such that nobody could realize it.
