From Nov. to Feb. I had no period. Took 4 tests, all came back negative. Mothers day I had my pap and mam and took another test (negative)got a depo shot. Spotted non-stop. Was supposed to renew July 17 but said screw that, thinking I would have stopped by now. 22 weeks later. STILL SPOTTING. What the hell? Anyone else? They told me I might not have one at all- they never said "you'll have one the rest of your life!"

There are MANY negative and health risking side affects of the shot. I gained weight as well as had horrible mood swings and a loss of libido.

It sucks because if you have a bad reaction to it it takes THREE months to get it somewhat out of the system and sometimes even longer than that!

Check out http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx and google "depo provera Lawsuit" and get off depo!

I was on it for four years and I'm OFF it now, side affect FREE, and losing weight slowly but surely! I'm on Kariva (pill) now.

I've never used the Depo shot but I've heard of some horror stories about it. I never used it because it's supposed to work for the entire month so if you have a bad reaction to it, your pretty much SOL for that month. I had a friend who actually lost a patch of hair the the back of her head, seriously I saw the bald spot. I've always used the pill and never had a problem with that. If it's the hormones you're concerned about, they have birth control pills with a lower dose of hormones, like ortho tricyclen low. They've got pills now where you only get a period 4 month out of the year.

If I were you, I'd go see your doctor and ask her/him what's going on. If they can't give you an answer then ask for a referral to a physician that can.

I had the same problem. The way I stopped it was to get put on the pill. I took that for about 2 months, and stopped when I got sick. I haven't had any bleeding since then, and right now I am not on any birth control, and not getting pregnant. I have no clue whats going on with my body, and neither does my Gyn. So as of now, I am just going with the motions.

One big problem I had is because of all the bleeding I did (every day for about 6 months), my iron levels are extremely low, and now I am on 2 iron pills a day. If you are feeling weird, get it checked out. You may have the same problem.

Good Luck!

they really never warn you well regarding depo and those who are fully warned think that it will not happen to them. you may bleed non stop or not bleed at all for maybe more than a year with depo after last use. it is sooo hard to say because it is very unpredictable and causes different bleeding patterns in every woman. the birth control is only guaranteed for 3 months but the side effects can go on and on and on.
