I've bought one so far, i dont understand why people do all of it now! Fair enough, you do need to pick up some expensive things earlier to spread the cost or to get them before they sell out, but someone said they have theirs wrapped already??!! Nutter!!

Its so much better waiting til late November/early December, yeah the shops will be crowded but that's part of the fun of Christmas, its so much more atmospheric doing it when its actually Christmas time, by then the shops will all be decorated and have Xmas songs playing, and you wont be tempted to buy more because you bought them all early and feel left out that you dont have anything left to buy!

I think anything to do with Christmas should be banned till after halloween!
Christmas is completely commercialised which has ruined it. Bring back the old days when people couldn't afford to buy crazy expensive gifts for everyone, when you had to make your own gifts and cards. Where's the love people?
You know that if you get kids the biggest most expensive toy that they're still gonna get more fun out of the box. Keep it simple.

Well actually, i started in August when i was on vacation. I shopped for most of the things i wanted for Christmas for my home and for my relatives. So now i am at the stage of making a list of the decorating ideas for the house and some minor changes i want to make around the house.

I start in January, with the sales..then I store things in safe places around the house and come boxing day, realise that I have half a dozen packages that I overlooked for people I have bought more gifts for in the meantime! I have been more organised a few times but it isn't nearly as much fun.

I haven't started Christmas shopping as such, but during the year, when I see something that I know someone would like, I buy it and keep it in my gift store!
The only problem is that I really don't know what is there so I had better go and check before I start shopping in earnest. Thanks for reminding me.
How many shopping days to Christmas?

This paycheck I will be going out to the stores and getting things on layaway for my daughter's birthday (december 9th) and then for christmas. So I'm going to be broke within a day or 2. But I love the Christmas season. I love giving gifts to people.

I have started too. It's easier to spread the cost that way and makes it a bit more affordable. I have to remember where I put everything though! I sometimes forget everything I bought for everyone. It's OK though because I can always use it for a birthday gift once I find it!

I've started looking for ideas about what to buy people, and will start actually buying things after pay day this month, I just got married and we paid for the wedding ourselves so we won't be able to splash out this year, but as my husband is always the one who cooks Christmas lunch they will forgive us!

No, but I did pick up Boots' Christmas catalogue yesterday to get some ideas for Christmas presents. I'm not buying pressies for all and sundry this year - just those I really care about!
