In Windows XP you can make 3 Primary partition and 1 extended partition. And in that extended patition you can make as many as number of partitons. So c: , d: , e: will be your primary partition and in extended you can make as many as parts upto F: to Z: and then A-A: , A-B: and goes on.

So you can make as many as you want!!

partitioning hard drive should be done in biosing.. u can have as many partitions u want. with respect to number of partitions u will have c:,d:,e:,f:... drives. (a: and b:for floppy drives). c: will be set as default. whenever u install any program it will get installed in c: as default.

in my knowledge drives are lettered A-Z
