When children wanna express their opinion ( tell what they want or what their dreams are ) , adults will label them as " childish " or " immature " ? For example, I joined a canoeing class which allows people over 10 years old to participate. There's a 11-year-old classmate and another 30-year-old classmate. They made the same problem while canoeing. Although the 10-year-old kid was good-mannered, My coach gave many " F-word " to the 10-year-old . But he always on the 30-year-old side. He never criticizes him. It seems as if the 30-year-old is old enough in order not to be critisized for any reasons.

Any comments. Share your thoughts and experience. Thanks everybody

Yes I know what you mean. I for one have been ignored and looked down upon because I myself am a kid too. I had to fight for my right between adults. My fifth grade teacher did not believe me when I told her that three of my classmates were picking on me on purpose. She said that I have to stop feeling like the whole world is against me (the whole world, pfuut, I said three kids NOT seven billion) and when it got whined all the way to the principal's office they (the three chums) admitted that they picked on me on purpose and my teacher didn't even apologise to me (for a psych grad, she sure can't read a kid's mind, money well spent!). The worse part was that it managed to get to my parents and they also didn't believe me. They picked my teacher's words over mine! But at least my parents apologised after the chums admitted the whole thing.

Yes, they are definitely discriminated aganist. My son has been going to the school in this small town we live in and in the morning all his classmates are in a huddle waiting for school and when my son tries to get in the huddle they just push him away and then stands all by himself and feels bad. The teachers say that "all the kids have known each other since kindergarten" now theres an excuse to treat someone like crap. So what does that have anything to do with it and so the whole rest of the time he is at school the only people that talk to him are teachers. He eats lunch by himself and no one talks to him and at recess he always has to stay in to do schoolwork and I'm sure if he did go out for recess he would just stand there by himself anyway. I am sorry but I just don't get it what is wrong when 10 year olds treat another kid like that, it certainly must come from the parents attitudes. I have also been told that the people in this town hate Mexicans and there is not one Mexican living here. I am compelled to feel like I live in the biggest redneck town ever. There are just a bunch of $ss's and so are their kids. Whats up with this crap??? After all the bad in the world cant people change their discriminating abusive attitudes toward a fellow human being, can't they bend and try being NICE!!! I think the word has been deleted from the English language and replaced with "TOUGH" which to me is a highly over-rated attitude. Thank You marciajohn133@yahoo.com

Some people are just stupid.

Children are supposed to be childish & immature, they are freakin CHILDREN.

I would tear that "coach" a new a** if I caught him screaming at my child.

Finally, not everyone likes children, that is their right. But then they need to take jobs where they don't deal with kids. Your hangup, your problem, not ours.

Someone needs to have a talk with that child's parent and inform them of what is going on. I have a feeling that the kid has complained but the parents aren't believing him (as is common).

Our children don't have the same freedoms (religion, speech, freedom from physical harm from adults) that adults too. It's shameful actually.
