Well, you lost a baby out of your body, the placenta, lots of blood, and you continue to loose blood..There is nothing to worry about..This is normal..You may notice since you are breastfeeding that you may have a slight upswing on your weight, but if you continue to do it, I usually started dropping major weight right around 6-9 months after...Congrats!

After giving birth your body undergo in a process of high metabolism. It means it take a lot of energy for body to reproduce milk to breastfeed your new born, the uterus is starting to came to a normal function (this is not a matter of days but weeks), hormone regulation and some changes in the body senses such as smell and taste are beginning to come back to a normal level unlike the time your pregnant. So your body undergo a very big process and that's the reason why your loosing weight aside from your tired and need some sleep and to cope the new life as a mother. So as you can see lots of things happening at one time.

This is very normal. Over the next 4 weeks you will lose the bulk of the weight you gained, since most of it is water weight. Continue breast feeding, this is a great way to get your body close to pre pregnancy weight as well as giving your little one all the nutrients he needs. Congratulations!!!

I believe most of the weight you are lousing is water weight and the extra blood your body had built up.. People louse weight at different rate, after child birth... If you are eating at least 3 healthy meals a day and getting the amount of calories you should, it shouldn't be anything to worry about... And yes breast feeding will help you louse weight.. You body should slow down once you get to your pre-pregnancy weight.

I knew some one who was huge when she walked into the hospital and walked out in her pre-pregnancy clothing... So some ppl do louse weight at different times...

Rapid weight loss after childbirth is normal, but don't take it as a license to overeat!
What you are losing right now is fluids. Excess water that has been stored in your cells and blood (both uterine and the extra blood that your body was circulating).

To continue losing weight you will need to exercise regularly and watch what you eat. It is very easy to GAIN weight while breastfeeding, as you have increased appetite.
Congrats on your new baby, and good luck!

It is possible that you are losing built up water in the skin. This happens when you have a larger sized baby or because the baby is sitting on an area that irritates your body.

I lost about 15 pounds of water when I had my children.
It won't keep going down like that unfortunately.
I hope that you and your newborn do well.

God Bless
Nicole

The water retention your body holds during pregnancy seems to be leaving your body rapidly, for me, this would be a good thing!. Mothers sometimes have the problem of retaining body fluids and baby fat right after birth, I am mother of 4 and never had the weight problem, but, my daughter's body retained all the fluids and baby fat for 7 years, she eventually had to under go "lipo" to get it off, Good luck to you for dropping it so fast and CONGRATULATIONS! to you on your new arrival Oct.1st. If you are having concerns about about the rapid drop, I would consult my OB/GYN to see if this suppose to be normal for me.

during pregnancy you retain alot of fluids and extra weight with the swelling of the uterus. the drastic weight loss is normal it is your body going back to normal after the baby and will continue to fluctuate for another month or so. however breastfeeding is a great way to lose weight so if you are eating right and exercise once you can the weight will continue to drop off! good luck to you and your baby.

Very normal. You're losing all the excess water weight, your uterus is shrinking back down from 2 1/2 lbs to just about 2 oz., your breasts are taking fat and nutrients to supply your milk for your baby, etc. Just don't get upset when you stop dropping weight quickly. lol

You've lost all the weight of the baby and everything else that came out during birth. Your weight loss will slow down real quickly.
