I think you are correct. He will jump ship after this year, because Michigan is his dream job. Why he would want to leave a powerhouse and go somewhere that he will have to rebuild a team is beyond me though.
LSU Balls is correct about the recruiting base too. He will have to work a lot harder to get the 5 star recruits to come up to Michigan. Those wealthy LSU boosters have a way of convincing the talent to stay home down there ;)

Winning a National Championship will make Les Miles a lot of money. Whether it is at LSU or Michigan remains to be seen. Personally, I think he is going to take the Michigan job for the simple fact that he has not denied the rumor. I have gained respect for the man this year but I feel like he had at least equal talent in his previous two years. I hope he stays but it really does not matter. LSU will shell out the money to get someone as good if not better. The LSU recruiting base makes coaches, not the other way around. Most of our superstar athletes come from Louisiana or within a 150 mile radius.

I think Michigan will pull Petrino from Atlanta's sinking ship. He expected to be coaching a semi-established team and it fell apart before he even got to coach a game. He won't want to spend his first stint in the NFL rebuilding while the Michigan job is available. His knowledge of more spread out type offenses (like AppSt and Oregon) is an obvious red flag for what Michigan needs and he made national contenders out of Louisville in the last couple of years. I don't think Miles is going anywhere for a while. Baton Rouge is going nuts over him and they'll pay him what ever he wants to keep them from losing to Saban's Crimson Tide. They may go after the Boise State guy as well.

Yeah he want that Championship. So it makes his job at Michigan easier. He will get better players to come play for him. And what is bad he is still playing with Nick's guys..
And if he does win and doesn't go to Michigan. He will be making 3,333,000.00 a year next year. If he wins the Championship he get and average of what the top three coaches make Their are two at 3 mil and one at 4 mil. Big Nick makes 4 mil.

Miles was coaching to win the Florida game, not worring about next season or even this season. He believed that his team could do it and he was right.
If he were thinking about next year or even the next game, it would show on the field and his team would not play as well.

No. I think it has to do with his confidence level and I agree with him. TOO many team opt for the "safe" punt, when, in reality, they would've likely been able to score the needed yards for the 1st down. Especially when you're a team playing as well as LSU.

A couple of times he went for it because our field goal kicker can't hit the broad side of a barn. The other times he went for it because he knew that Jacob Hester would not be denied. Whatever the reasons, it worked.

He obviously has faith in his team and trusts them to make the big plays.
**To the guy below me....there are very few of Saban's recruits on this team. Try looking up a roster before you spout nonsense.

Why would he go to a second rate program while he's on top. Michigan used to mean something but let's face it, it's all about the SEC now.
