Just another example of journalists transcending the reporting of news for the sake of BEING the news.
Matthews is not interested in moderating the debate, he wants to participate and, like last time, he will.
He and Russert have the same problem; The questions use more time than the candidates are allowed to use for the answer.

No he should not and just as the Democrats refused the Fox debate why can't the Republicans stand up and say know to a moderator who worked for democratic leaders and ran for office as a democrat. He never lets down his Democrat bias and his desire to push a far left agenda on any program he is on. The H$^^ with Chris Matthews.

Not unless the dems/libs are willing to accept Rush or Shawn as a moderator for their next debate. Matthews is NOT a journalist by any definition. He is a liberal democrat operative, assigned to spread propaganda and lies. Why in he11 do the republicans agree to allow him to set the tone for our debates? I will not be watching. Besides, the outcome of the debates will have absolutely no bearing on my vote in the primary or the general elections. I already know who has my votes. In the primary, it will be the person who's public record and beliefs are closest to mine. In the general election, ANY republican will receive my vote over the blatant socialists the libocrats are throwing at us.

Sure. Reps are showing they have guts by going to an MSNBC debate with Mathews moderating. Can't say the same for the Dems.

Actually, I think it is good to have a moderator with opposing views as the candidates. The Democrats should have someone like Rush Limbaugh moderate their debate. Then you know the questions aren't white washed to make sure the candidates look good. You know that they are being asked real questions...

It will be interesting to see if he can keep his huge ego in check. Sad, but these cable gabbers actually think they hold some type of elected office due to make-up, hair plugs and witty writers who keep the teleprompters primed with zippy one-liners.

Whether he can see it in himself or not, he leans to the left and that is reflected in how he approaches those he interviews.
However, he's still not anywhere near as partisan as the knuckleheads on Fox News.

Yes, I have watched him for years, he is highly intelligent and very informed, and more importantly he is not bought out. Now, that may be a trait the candidates may not like, but tough shite.
