you could apply for store operator/paging system or a member of the security team [ most stores have many security and that would work nicely for you. [you could work at any and all stores for those positions. i know some people also cashier and use a chair or stool for this]
you could also work in customer service/credit dept .

If you are very friendly, a door greeter is a good idea. But why couldn't you be a cashier?? If you have uses of your upper body, just bring or request chair. I've worked retail before, and sitting would not limit much.
There would be a few accomodations, but I don't see much of a pblm. Other than no one has done it before probably! :0)
Good luck with your job search!

You can be a cashier (sitting on a stool to give you the proper height to work the cash till, etc), or work in the back office as a bookkeeper, etc. Generally you'll need more training / education for a back-office job (a two or four-year college degree might be a minimum starting point).

I think you need to evaluate your skills first. Do you have typing and office skills? Computer skills? Book keeping, etc? Then an office job at wal mart or anywhere else would suit you. If you dont have those skills, what do you have? What do you need? What would you like to do? Then go for what you want whithin the parameters you have. If you have mobility problems you may also contact the department of rehabilitation to see what help is available.

At Wal Mart?? Ya right!! Unless you're a manager or work in personnel, you won't be sitting down at Wal Mart. And they don't often allow the door greeters to sit down either. Good luck in finding what you're looking for. ☺

If you are physically disabled you can be a cashier and they'll let you sit down. I've had cashiers that were sitting before. You could also be a greeter but i don't think that would pay as well as cashier.

A sit down job is pretty hard to find in retail. Even the cashiers have to stand all day.
Receptionist at the eyeglass shop maybe?
Good luck, I hope you find something.

Door greeter. I was one for 4 weeks till I got sick and had to leave. Your best bet is to get online and see what positions are available under hourly and salaried positions. You might also look at K-marts or Home Depot they also hire the disabled.
Good Luck
