Hi,
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a Mono-Pole Magnet, and if so how do you make one?
Serious answers only please.
Many thanks.....

you can use a high powered magnet to make a small magnet appear monopole, by magnetizing both ends with the same pole, the other pole is confined to the center, a great prank to play on a physics teacher...

What if you use a super conductive material? Does this not cause all magnetic fields to become mono-pole like? without actually creating a mono-pole magnet! If so, by simple definition is this not a mono-pole device

As of 2007, magnetic monopoles are purely theoretical constructs. Well, maybe even that's going too far. It's possible to arrange Maxwell's equations to describe a monopole, but no one has ever observed one in an experiment, and nobody has the faintest idea as to how to synthesize one. Unless there's some sort of breakthrough, fusion power and artificial (man-made) black holes seem more likely and easier to do than making a monopole.

It is not possible for us to create a monopole.
Monopoles have been predicted, but only as being created shortly after the Big Bang. Due to the inflation of the early universe, there is probably not more than 1 in the entire observable universe. So for all intents and purposes, they don't exist.

a mono pole magnet cannot exist...however much u try cuttin a piece of magnet...coz as soon as u cut it, the end that is cut takes a new polarity....even a magnet as small as an atom will have polarities.

Magnetic field lines are closed one. There is no beginning or end of a magnetic field.

Poles are hypothetical cocepts and do not exist.

Mono poles are believed to have existed in the early universe.
Other than that, I don't see how you could make one as they
have never been observed experimentally.

There is such notion - Dirac monopole...
But this is nsolved problem in physics: Are there any particles that carry "magnetic charge", and if so, why are they so difficult to detect... See--->
