Grace's suggestion is the best for trying to get her to quit.

What you heard about each time you smoke or drink you LOSE (not loose) a day to live is not true. It is true that, statistically, smokers die earlier, but it is not true for every single person. Smoking raises risks for several cancers, for heart disease, for emphysema, and other diseases. Heavy drinking is associated with cirrhosis of the liver and several other diseases. Some mild forms of drinking, like one glass of red wine a day has actually been clinically proven to be beneficial in reducing cholesterol and heart disease in people.

It is a good idea to stop smoking and reduce drinking in general, but it will likely be a hard sell coming from her child.

Good luck!

It might first help if you tell her how much you love her first. Then let her know you're concerned for her health and that you'll do anything you can to help her quit her bad habits. I don't think I can help you anymore than that. Good luck!!!

if you want her to stop, the first day give her 5 the next day 4 , the other day keep 4 cigarettes to 3 days then the next day 3 cigarettes keep 3 days giving her 3 cigarette then the next day give her 2 then the next day give her only one a day and then you stop giving her . she will get use to it
