Anything to deflect from one thing, OUR CONSTITUTION where is does say our welfare is paramount.

============
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense,

promote the general welfare,

and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
==================

There ya got it, UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, REGARDLESS OF INCOME.

Why didn't we have health care in our past?
Barbers were our doctors 150 years ago
Uncontrolled medical costs are recent.

I live in China as an ex pat from the USA. I had a bad fall that resulted in cat scans, x rays, multiple doctors office visits and the total bill was less then $100. While that is a large sum for an average Chinese, the same thing in the states would have cost me $12,000 or quite possibly considerably more. Totally out of reach for the average American.

A friend of mine spent 12 days in the hospital in China with a serious lung infection. Total cost, $200 USD. 2/3 of that was covered under insurance.

Peace

Jim

I don't think that he was probably the best choice to use as a poster child for Health Care. I know that he is in need, and I certainly would like to help all victims of accidents, but take a good look at the facts, from a liberal website source. His parents earned a total of 45k combined, they surely had car insurance, they should have health insurance and more importantly, what about the 900,000 kids that parents are earning less than 26,000 a year. He is spending the money meant for them. I disagree with attacking this kid or his family, the State found them eligible, I would be attacking the State unless all children are getting health care that parents earn 45k or less.

1) Graeme has a scholarship to a private school. The school costs $15K a year, but the family only pays $500 a year.

2) His sister Gemma attends another private school to help her with the brain injuries that occurred due to her accident. The school costs $23,000 a year, but the state pays the entire cost.

3) They bought their “lavish house” sixteen years ago for $55,000 at a time when the neighborhood was less than safe.

4) Last year, the Frost’s made $45,000 combined. Over the past few years they have made no more than $50,000 combined.

5) The state of Maryland has found them eligible to participate in the CHIP program.

Michelle Malkin's blog shows the essence of the bankruptcy of conservatives when she rants about eliminating the estate tax to aid children and throwing peanut tax breaks as an answer to addressing catastrophic injury/illness.

Why the heck anyone takes that flip seriously is amzing.

This is the typical Republican trick, attack the messenger rather than argue the merits of the program. The father is barely middle class but that is enough to bring on the attack dogs. Too bad the middle class is disappearing because of Republican policies. Soon they will have their way, the haves and the have nots, and screw the have nots.

Why does the richest nation in the world deny health care to its children?

Here in the UK the NHS has its problems but at least it has the premise of free at the point of care paid via our taxes.

Republicans are good at attacking children, and not at debating their failed policies.
